HIST 1010 - WORLD HISTORY I
Has does have an accent but it is easy to understand for the most part. His tests are extremely detailed but he does give a study guide. Overall he provides the information that makes the class fair but it will be require a good amount of studying.

Although he has a russian accent and you can't really understand him, Boris is very knowledgeable and will answer all of your questions. Exams are pretty hard and i had to study several days for them but ended up with a B and i was happy with it.

Pros: If you go to class, you can do pretty well on his tests. He puts all the powerpoints and study guides online.
Cons: He can sometimes be difficult to understand during a lecture. Even though going to class is a major help, I still studied really hard and filled out his massive stud guides and still ended up with a grade I wasn't completely satisfied with. Also, the only grades in his class are three tests and an optional final.

Once you figure out his accent, you should be fine. Make sure to go to all of the SI sessions - they really help when studying for the test. Don't buy the book; you won't use it.

Pros: The book notes you have to do help with the grades. There are only 2 tests and the final.
Cons: There are only 2 tests and a final. His study guides are ridiculous! They are like 12 pages long and don't focus on anything. Just buy them from somewhere. Sometimes his accent is hard to understand.
I wouldn't take him again.

For the whole semester, I could not find where Gorshkav was in the book. I failed every test we took, even though I went to class. Test four was probably the hardest because we had to read two books, along with knowing the information from the lectures. I don't recommend Gorshkav's class to anyone.

Pros: No homework
All multiple choice tests
EASY
Cons: Try not to fall asleep in class
Yes he is Russian and he has an accent but if you just go to class and pay attention you can do fine on his tests. They're WAY super easy. Plus it helps if you find the old tests because they're almost exactly the same.

Hard to understand. But his tests are pretty easy. The final is optional if you're okay with your grade. Not too hard to make a B in this class.
