Finance major and I didn't like this class. Maybe it was because it was at 8AM but I just had a hard time getting motivated for this class. I like the topics of money and banking and stuff about the Fed but I hated how she gave us confusing graphs (to me they are) that will mean nothing in the real world. Tests were semi-hard although the final exam was comprehensive 75 M/C plus two problems. I thought it was kind of unfair especially since her syllabus said nothing about a comprehensive final exam. She tends to mumble and go off topic and always talks about how she has to change her powerpoint slides. Looking back, I wish I didn't take this class as one of my 4 for the Finance option. 2 (Midterms) 35 M/C, plus 5 definitions and a few problems. Final was 75 M/C with 2 problems. She also gives problem sets (about 6) She never looked at them so make sure you do them (even if they are wrong) or you won't get credit.

Easy subject if you go to class. take notes, since test in based solely on lectures. But ....this will only happen if you can stay awake in the class. Her lecture is soooooooooooo boring, I actually saw a students falling asleep as taking notes. Most boring instructor I ever had. Has a great knowledge, but does not know how to teach. She thinks she is the most important. I don`t know how she thinks students can pay attention for full 110 minutes. Students actually started leaving the class to make her stop talking. The other class was waiting to get in the room. And then she smiles and says that she will be available in her office hours to consult...DAH as if those 2 hours wasn`t enough of her. Take her only if you wanna torture yourself.

This professor does not know how to teach! She is very knowledgeable but is not able to articulate that knowledge in an effective manner. She gave us WAY too much material to study and took a trip to Indonesia in the middle of our quarter! She is absolutely unreasonable. She covers SO much and doesn't even highlight what will be on the tests beforehand. She simply says "everything". How are students supposed to memorize EVERYTHING that came out of her mouth!? I have loved EVERY econ professor before at Cal State East Bay. I hate to have my last econ class with this woman. If you are looking for an econ professor I would highly recommend David St. Clair. He is absolutely amazing!

I think it's ridiculous that students complain about Professor Lopus because they are sleepy in her classes at 8am!!! Go to bed early the day before - and then probably you will get the topic! As someone mentioned earlier - Economics is not a fun topic! But she made it really interesting and worth taking! So far - one of the best professors in CalState EB! Wait until you will see really boring professors! There are tons of them in this institute, but it is definitely not Professor Lopus. Btw, just for your knowledge - she was awarded the best Professor for several years in a row in CalState.

Lets face it, economics is not the most exciting subject anyway. It gets boring looking at graphs all day, but I thought Ms. Lopus was a good teacher. She always made herself available for any questions students had during class, would go over our midterms with us, and stayed with the syllabus. I will say that econ 2301 was better than 2302. As for all the comments about her being a boring teacher, please- I have seen boring teachers and she is definately not one of them.

In my opinion this teacher is very boring. She gave us a lot of useless information and her exams are very hard. It was unfair to study whole the chapters on the final exam. How can I memorize the book and the presentation!!. I hate that class. Btw, most of the class were cheating easily to get a good grade or just to pass. Mrs. Lopus you have to change your way, because we are human being not animals.

Lopus is a very good teacher and explains the material well. There are only midterms and final. There isn't much work to be done since there are only midterms/final so her class will be a light load for anyone who are busy with their other classes. She is very kind and willing to answer any questions you might have. Take her if you can. She's one of the better econ professors.

as everyone has said already.. i cant stress enough how extremely boring this prof is. her notes are pretty straight forward, but its hard to learn and consume a lot of information when you are busy just tryin to open your eyes and stay awake. tests are somewhat elaborate, but if you do your readings, youll be fine

she is a nice teacher but her lectures are long and boring. there is 2 midterms and some homeworks. she went to teach in Hungry for 2 weeks the quarter i had her,so we had to watch videos she made and was responsible for the information that was on it. i didn`t think that was fair. nobody showed up anyways.

Very Very boaring, but easy. She made two hours feel like 6. Gives some homework but gives credit based on if you finished it or not. Two midterms and a final. Test are fairly easy, they come straight out of the book. The most confusing questions on the test are the ones she makes up.

I took Dr. Lopus' class a couple quarters ago and I still think she is the BEST professor in the department of economics. Her money and banking class well prepared me for the next classes, such as international finance and other finance classes. Thank you Dr. Lopus.

Really nice and helpful teacher. If you are not a Economics or finance major, then you wont like it but for the rest of us, we enjoyed it and learned important information regarding our country's economic policies. I highly recommend this teacher

nice lady, always willing to help. very passionate to economics and have a lot of knowledge. 2 midterms and 1 final, plus assignments with short essays. if you study hard, she`ll make an "A" seem very possible. would take her again.

Final exam is comprehensive and we only had 3 class lectures to complete 4 chapters after the 2nd midterm. It is not fair for students to squeze all 4 chapters within 3 class lectures and sit for the comprehensive final exam.

Very boring, makes you feel like you`re in class for 5 hours, when its only 70 mins. Soft and monotone voice. If you read the book you`ll do fine in the class. Don`t really have to go to class, but gives homework unannounced.

Her review sheets are not helpful at all, she basically put everything that she went through during the quarter all on the study guides so in order to get an A, you`ll need to attend the class and read the book (definitions)

If you`re not very familiar with the principles of economics, don`t take this teacher. She`s really nice but also really boring. The materials are dry, difficult to understand. 2 Midterms, 1 Final, and Homework Assignments.

Very great teacher! If she feels and see that you are trying she will curve big time. Great teacher, lectures are on tests and quizzes. She is only difficult if you do not read. If you read and understand you will do fine.

Grades on a curve and very fair. Extra credit is given. Lecture follows book, but you need to read the book. Makes dry subject easier to understand
