PSYCH 2230
Introduction to Biopsychology
5*****
Pros: Professor is a fantastic lecturer and is extremely knowledgable. The two written assignments are very easy. One prelim can be dropped. Extra credit is available by participating in psychology studies.
Cons: This is definitely the most difficult psychology class I have taken. The exams require a detailed understanding of the course material. The course material is very dense.
Dr. Smith is one of the best professors I have had at Cornell. He definitely knows his stuff and he is able to maintain my attention through class. The course material, although dense, is very interesting. He expects his students to spend a lot of time studying for his exams. The averages for the exams are usually in the mid 70's and he does not curve, though the written assignments and extra credit make up for the difficulty of the exams (the papers tend to have averages in the high 90s). Coursework includes 3 prelims (50 points each; lowest is dropped), a comprehensive final (75 points), an "e-mail your professor" assignment (5 points), and 2 papers (25 points each).
