Doric Order Definition: The earliest form of columns. 16 grooves on each column topped by a frieze consisting of triglyphs and metopes. The capitals of the doric order are simple.
Ionic Order Definition: The second form of columns. 24 grooves on each column topped by sculpted single band frieze as well as a pediment. The capitals on the ionic order are "scroll like" or volute. The ionic order also has a pediment.
Corinthian Definition: The third form of columns. The capitals are fancier and have a "floral" appearance
Triglyph Definition: A separation marker in between two metopes. Mostly identified by the 3 line indentions. Found above the Doric style columns

Metope Definition: A decorated block that fills in the space between two triglyphs in a Doric frieze
Frieze Define: A horizontal sculpture band above columns. In a Doric frieze you have triglyphs and metopes. In an Ionic frieze you have a single sculpted band
