CS 112 - Intro Computer Programming
Great professor, really knows a lot. Stay on top of the lab assignments (don't wait until the last minute to work on them). The quizzes get too much weight in my opinion, and the tests are frickin' tough. You really need to work hard to get an A in this class.

Pros: He can be funny. Sometimes.
Cons: He's arrogant and makes you feel like a moron if you have any questions or don't know something. It's almost like it makes him feel smart to make his students feel stupid -- and wants to show off how smart he is.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, especially if you don't already know the material incredibly well. This is NOT an intro class, even though it says it is. You are expected to have already programmed things and know a lot about computers and programming, and it starts off explaining things from concepts you would not know unless you were already familiar with the material. Also nothing is explained well, and very simple examples are given if any examples are given at all, and they are not explained in enough detail to be useful. The tests, homework, and projects are way beyond ANYTHING the class covers and you're expected to figure everything out on your own. It's ridiculous - I've never seen a worse class or a worse teacher, and I would not recommend either to ANYONE!

He is a decent guy to talk to. However, the midterm and final are a bit hard, though I managed. The projects weren't too bad if you had enough time. Heishman doesn't like to think you have other classes. Though, most teachers are this way. I count homework as labs which are due every week.

Pros: Gives good lecture and covers the material really well
Cons: Basically reads off the slides on his laptop. Never explain how to apply the syntax, codes, etc from his lectures to the projects and homework. You have to figure everything out yourself
start working on your homework and projects as soon as you receive them. They are really tricky at the first glance trust me.

Pros: Sarcastic

Dry Humor
Cons: Doesn't allow laptops

A little grumpy sometimes
He is a funny guy, but you really have to pay attention to pass. Also, there are a lot of projects and readings. It's a good class and you learn a lot, but be ready to work.
