You're better off teaching yourself the material and skipping class. You always get held in class a few minutes late. He drags on and on about the same simple things for the entire class. Your lowest test is replaced with your final. There is an Aplia assignment due before each test (4 tests), all graded.

Pros: he tries really hard. easy tests if you get the old tests.
Cons: he writes with his left hand. really monotone and really boring. hard to sit through class.
Herbert tries really hard and he really cares, but it sucks because his voice is so monotone that it makes it an obstacle to sit through class. the tests are a joke if you get your hands on the old tests. i never went to class and just studied the old tests and i got a high A.

Pros: He's a nice guy who has a lot of passion for the subject...he's very helpful.
Cons: You have to go to class because you'll understand the material better and his notes are handwritten on the image reader.
As hard as i've heard this class is, I feel like it's not that bad if you go to class and really pay attention and as questions if you don't understand.

Pros: He knows what he's talking about. Overall, he's a good teacher.
Cons: He is very verbose and takes a long time to explain some concepts.
He isn't as bad as some people make him out to be. With his class, you even have the option of watching his class online through classes on demand (for a fee). So if you end up with herbert, you're good.

Pros: He does a great job of explaining the material and will take as long as you need to understand a the subject. He also has more than one section of the same class so if you need to an earlier section or a later section one day you can.
Cons: He is left handed, sounds absurd but when you get into the class you'll understand.

Pros: Really great guy. Talk to him and introduce yourself. He will be helpful
Cons: Not the best at explaining things, but it always willing to try again and offer help outside of class.
Last I spoke to him, he was going to teach at Tulane. Good guy, shame to lose him at LSU.

Pros: if you go to class every day and pay attention you will get an A.
Cons: If you don't go to class, you will fail. He is a really messy note taker, and knows the material so well, expecting us to understand it instantly... he is very fast paced so beware

Pros: You use course compass for homework, and it helps a lot.
Cons: The computer based tests are difficult.
He writes left-handed so you are always behind when he writes notes. His handwriting is horrible. He doesn't do a good job of explaining things.

Avoid taking Herbert. He says in class all the time that he wants to trick you on the tests. The only good thing about the class is that he curves a lot on at least 2 of the exams.

Pros: Not that much work out of class.
Cons: SLOPPY HANDWRITING, and extremely hard to follow along in class. You will teach yourself from the book, but the tests don't really reflect the book at all.
I'd take someone else if possible
