HIST 4130 - World War Ii

Very knowledgeable on the subject matter. One of the best professors I've had while at LSU. Makes it very interesting. Only 2 tests and 1 Final, requires you to use book material to get an A in his class.

Hilton is an okay teacher in class, but he has his TA's grade everything, and your grade will be really subjective. There are very few A's, maybe 4 per test out of 250 kids. He requires his TA to grade into a bell curve so you'll get a B or C unless you know nothing, but overall I think it was a pretty lousy class based on his lack of involvement with grading.

war hero wanna be who could care less if you learn or not, doesnt care about students , he thinks his career is about him, what a douche .. i did good in the class, and i dont have a grudge against him. i followed the rules , but i also know he was a bad teacher. i paid my money for the class, if i would have been late, HE WOULD HAVE HEARD FROM ME... that shit isnt right!!!!!!

Pros: Knows his stuff!

Up front with exam content

Cons: He may offend some people with his opinions.

Sweats ALOT!

Great class! 3 Exams, no papers. He will let you know in advance the type of questions to focus on for the exams. Funny/interesting lectures. No need to read all the books. Just focus on the textbook and refer to t in your exam essay and he/the TA will be happy.

Pros: you have know something about the course before going in

Cons: you have to listen to his views on the vietnam war and how is was and is apposed to it instead of teaching the damn course

He was really funny and cool, but his tests were 1 essay question...so they were pretty difficult. They are also graded by a TA and not Hilton himself.
