GEOL 1001 - GEN GEOL PHYSICAL
Personally, I love the guy. He's very intelligent and has a monotone voice, but he is pretty funny sometimes. He's given 3 bonus opportunities thus far, and the exams aren't too bad if you just read the chapters.

His lectures are painful to listen to. A lot of studying comes from the book, however if you are interested in the subject and can focus for a long time on studying... his tests aren't impossible

Pros: In class quizes gave you a chance to bring up your grade and make sure you were in class and following along. Extra credit was AMAZING. It was never extremely hard and it gave you up to five points.
Cons: Dr. Kelley was kind of monotone when he spoke and was not very enthused about teaching the material unless it involved becoming a geology major.

Pros: Was a pretty easy class, even for someone who really doesn't like science. He pretty much just reads straight from the powerpoints.
Cons: He's very monotone and makes it a point to call out anyone who leaves early, which can get annoying. Have to go to class because of the pop quizzes.
Easy class, just go to class and read the book.

Pros: All of his power points are straight from the book. So, nessarily, you don't need to go to class, but just read the book well.
Cons: His tests were difficult. Not impossible, but difficult. There's easier Geology teachers out there that you can easily get an A.
He didn't curve anything. I was ranked 33 out of 400 people and got a B. It was ridiculous.

Pros: Not too hard.
Cons: Rocks can get boring.
Dr. Kelley literally has nothing to do with how this class works. All about your TA. I had Isis Fukai and she was a cool girl. Classifying rocks was tough and aggravating. Honestly all of it got aggravating but its once a week and its not the worst class I have taken.

Pros: Daniel is a nice guy, dry sense of humor, study guide on moodle
Cons: lecture can be boring.
If you study hard it pays off. I made a 90 on his tests just from really buckling down and studying. It's hard to pay attention in class because rocks are really boring in general.

Pros: I had Austin Cardeneaux as my TA and he was super easy
Cons: the lab takes about 3 hours every single time and can be really boring. it is nothing to do with the teacher, just the material

Pros: If you're a geology major, you'll be fine.
Cons: I have never done poorly in ANY class until his. I've asked for help from both him and his TA. He never answers your emails, and he is extremely monotone.

Cons: Not actually taught by Dr. Kelley. Instead, it is taught by a TA.
The TA, Ryan, sometimes has to make up assignments. These assignments will not be fun, nor will they be completely coherently made.

Cons: it's mind numbingly boring. he is about as enthusiastic as a rock. lectures are monotone and it's not a blow off class.

the tests are pretty much identical to the old tests. He gives clicker quizzes so you must go to class to get those points. He is pretty sarcastic but seems to know what he is talking about.
