Fun guy, likes teaching. He will challenge you, but it's not impossible to get a 4.0.
I bought the book and it helped me, I will probably get a 4.0 in the class. When you go to class all you do is fill in the lecture notes. He posts the lecture recordings online, but you have to get the notes in class.
The tests are taken off the lecture notes, plus his choice of 2 diagrams.

LOTS of material per exam, so make sure you don't wait until the last minute. Good if you have a previous background in bio or physio, a little tougher to follow if you have not. Stay on top of the material, because the amount can be overwhelming. Dr. D KNOWS HIS STUFF, but is teaching at a high level for an intro class.

Pros: Great teacher, big class, sense of humor, and very well educated.
Cons: Sort of boring, don't skip any lectures or you'll miss a lot, tons of notes, cover a lot of material for one test
Do not try to cram and expect to pull off an A. Go to class, study your notes and you'll be fine.

Cons: There is a lot of material, and classes are longer so they can be a little boring sometimes.

This class is overall enjoyable. You learn a ton, and P. Dill is very knowledgeable about the material. He is also a nice guy and willing to help. His T.A. is also very smart and helpful at review sessions. This class is a class where you need to study, but getting a good grade is definitely not out of reach. Looks like I am going to 3.5 this class, and I did not do as well on the first exam. After the first exam, you have a better idea on the type of questions that he asks. Oh, and do not bother buying the book, it really is not necessary, and the prof will tell you that on your first day of class. It can be helpful in diagrams, but the exam questions are completely from lecture. I did not buy a book.

Pros: Dr. Dillon is an amazing professor, one of my top five ever at MSU. He is down-to-earth and very intelligent, covering interesting physiological topics.
Cons: He easily gets off topic so it's hard to determine what notes are going to be useful and what can be dismissed.
I loved Dr. Dillon! This class is a great alternative to CEM 388 if you're a physio major. Stop by Dillon's office hours once and a while and he'll make sure you pass his class with flying colors. He's a great guy!!! For exams, just read the assigned chapters, review the presentations, and wing it. It's not that hard of a class...

I took this class during the summer semester. I found Dr. Dillon entertaining and very willing to answer questions. I learned a lot, but don't take the class during the summer unless you're willing to put a ton of work into it. You have to take good notes and really study before the exams. He's really strict about grading. He warned us that he will not, under any circumstances, bump you up a couple points if you fall below the range. I myself missed the 3.5 by only two points. But, I still recommend the class if you don't slack off.

Dr. D is a great professor. The material in 425 can be pretty daunting, but so is the field of biophysics as well. As difficult as the material is, the exams are very fair and manageable. If you are a physiology major deciding whether to substitute 425 for CEM 383, I would highly highly suggest it. If you want to do well in the course, go to his office hours. He explains things extremely well and I noticed that he made connections in the material that ended up on exams. But overall great prof, great class.

Dr. Dillon is a great professor who makes physiology interesting and enjoyable.
That being said, it's also a demanding class. There is a lot of information to memorize and comprehend, but in the long run, it's information that's necessary to know if you're prenursing/premed.
His exams are moderately hard, but the curve in the class helps a lot. Take advantage of all the lectures and study sessions, they're rather helpful!

Pros: Dr. Dillon is very outgoing and friendly. He explains the material very thoroughly and often adds in his own personal stories that help you remember the material.
Cons: The class is only based off of the exams you take. The exams are challenging, there is a lot of material, and he asks very specific questions. In order to succeed in the class you must study a lot.

Dr. Dillon is awesome. I never missed a class because I loved the personal anecdotes he used to make the material more interesting. Definitely knows the material, likes what he does, and has the course set up very well. I wouldn't suggest talking in lecture though, even though there are 600 people he WILL call you out.
