The best teacher I've had at MSU and a great course! She doesn't give any notes or study guides, but lectures out of the book. My best advice is to bring your book to class everyday and highlight what she goes over and/or make notes in the margins. Her test are straightforward and fairly easy. Take an hour, read over the notes you've made, answer the checkpoints, and read the chapter summary and you'll get an A. She doesn't take attendance, however, I felt attendance was neccessary to get the information for the tests. She's a great teacher and very willing to help you outside of class. The best part is there are only 5 tests and if you're happy with your grade you don't have to take the final!

Mrs. Armstrong is a very nice middle-aged lady, but I was not a huge fan of her class. She doesn't actually type the notes out or write them on the board, but instead reads them out loud. This is the kind of class that I would like for teachers to just post the notes on the board for me to inattentively copy and look at later, because her lectures were not really very important/stimulating(it's freshman general psychology, so this is not necessarily her fault, and she does try to make it interesting). So, shortly after the first test I just quit taking notes altogether. In order to study for the tests I read all of the assigned chapters in their entirety, which is not fun because these chapters are VERY long. I did not use the notes at all, as previously stated. This method worked for me, as I made A's on all of the tests. However, the tests are not easy and I found myself frustrated by many of the questions. The tests consisted of 50 multiple choice questions, and I found that around 40 of them were relatively easy if you studied, while the rest were either ones I didn't know due to lack of memorization on my part or because they were really tricky. I knew people that just studied the notes that didn't do well at all in the class, so if you want an A and are not willing to read the book then you probably better find an easier behavioral science to take. Another minor gripe I have with this class is that Mrs. Armstrong interestingly skipped the evolution chapter, even though it was one of the first few chapters and we went in order throughout most of the book. I guess that's what we get for going to a state school in Mississippi though.

I absolutely LOVE Mrs. Armstrong!! She is my favorite teacher at MSU, hands down! She knows everything about the subjects she teaches. I had her for General Psych and Intro Developmental Psych and made As in both!! It's important to go to class and take notes because 95% of the tests come from notes. Her tests are 50 multiple choice questions and always really easy if you go to class and take notes/pay attention. Reading definitely helps, but you could probably get by without it if you are feeling lazy. She's very animated when she teaches and she really loves what she does. She cares for her students and will always work with you if there is an emergency. She's always available to help you outside of class. I always looked forward to going to her class and never wanted to miss! TAKE HER CLASSES!!!!

I Absolutely love Mrs Armstrong. She is my advisor and such a sweet and lively person. I would reccommend all Psych Majors take this class as soon as possible because it gives great info on many of the careers available in the Psychology domain and helps u decide if this is really the major u want to be in and plus, There is no final, u only meet once a week, and all u have to do id pay attention to the lectures, the quizzes are online and she gives u plenty time to complete them and she gives chances for bonus!! I HIGHLY reccommend this class!

Mrs. Armstrong is an AWESOME teacher! She loves what she does, and has tons of funny personal stories to share that help you relate to the material. The tests are not difficult, but you should still study. Mrs. Armstrong will not hesitate to help you.She makes it a point to get to know her students. She is by far the best teacher I've had at MSU for any subject.

Pros: This class was very informative on how I should study, raise my family, and funny on how all people are a little bit crazy.
Cons: The class is dull sometimes, and you have to go to class every time to figure out what you should study for the Test.
Mrs. Rebecca is really nice and approachable. Sometimes the test are a little too confusing on how they phrase the question but usually you'll get a grading curve. My big problem for this class was that I hated going to class on Fridays, but Mrs. Armstrong liked to tell people all the needed to know that day. She is sneaky that way. Unless you can get the notes and hints from somebody that is reliable, be sure to go to class! Also the PRP's are easy. Get them done early and do all the online surveys as you can. You won't regret it!

The book is not "required" but it is a necessity to do well in the class. I loved her and would love to take her again if i get the chance! I enjoyed the class because of her fun examples. she really relates to people our age and is understanding. Psychology is a tough subject, but she made is easy to remember and do well. Every class she found some way to crack me up! The only downside to her class is that the test cover ALOT of material that I thought, and that was important, so you have to start studying early. But even the book has an intresting way of putting things so its not too terrible =]

Rebecca is an amazing teacher. She WANTS you to understand Psychology, which sets her apart from most teachers that just present material and don't care if you learn it or not. That said, she makes every effort to let you know that if you don't understand something, shoot her an e-mail and she will get back to you, usually the same day. Tests can be challenging, but if you go to class every day, she tells you what will be on it and makes sure you are adequately prepared. Pay attention to her, take notes, and study before the tests, and Rebecca's class is an easy A.

Mrs. Armstrong was byfar one of my favorite teachers at State my first semester. She doesn't take attendence, but it's good if you go to class because she gives really good notes and examples. She grades pretty fairly (i.e. if a lot of people miss the same question on a test, she will throw it out and give you extra points for it). Mrs. Armstrong loves what she does and does a great job catching your attention. The book is not required, but it does help if you miss a day in class. Mrs. Armstrong is an amazing teacher and I would reccommend her to anyone!

Mrs. Armstrong is a very nice person. She tries to make the class interesting. Taking notes in her clas DOES NOT HELP!!! To pass this class with an A or B you have to read the chapters in the book and pretty much just study the book. I stopped going to class after the second test and just read the chapters that the test was going to be on. I made better doing this than when I went to class. There are 4 regular exams plus the final. She takes your highest 4 exam grades, so if you are happy with your grade before the final you do not have to take it.

HER TESTS ARE HAAAAAARDD!!

so if you dont want to study then DO NOT take her! over all she was pretty entertaining and energetic and attendence isnt mandatory but she tells you a lot of information that isnt in the book in class... she only counts 4 out of 5 tests including the final so you dont HAVE to take the final. if you dont study for her tests you WILL do bad... it is pretty much gaurenteed. oh and the tests cover A LOT of material too.

Mrs. Armstrong is a great teacher. The class isn't bad at all, and I found it really interesting. Tests aren't bad but they do cover all of the chapters for that test. I would definitely recommend going to class everyday becuase she tells you stuff that isn't in the book and will hint at things that will be on the test. Sometimes it can be boring, but most chapters are neat. Not a hard class, and I would strongly recommend her to anyone.

Pros: She loves to “physically” explain what she is talking about.
Cons: Her answers to the test tend to blend together, so you may be so close to making a B.
She is a very expressive teacher. She loves to demonstrate real-life examples. She seems to be very reasonable, but when it comes to her tests, you might want to study a bit harder because you may be confused on some of the answer choices. I was so close to making a B.

She was such an interesting teacher but her test were more about diagnosing a patients behavior or she would give examples and you would use a term you learned in class. Her test were not on vocabulary. You have to relate what you learn to life instances. I would advice you take her but be prepared. This class is not an easy A! She lets you use top 4 test grades and if you need to take the final its optional.

TAKE THIS CLASS EVEN IF YOU DON'T HAVE TO!! She has an amazing personality and teaches right out of the book. Does't take attendance but you need to come to hear whats on the test. 4 tests (50 multiple choice).. she takes the highest. I made As on all 3 so I don't have a final. This class is about babies, and kids growing up so you already know a lot. Most fun class I have ever taken.

dr. Armstrong is an amazing teacher. she is passionate and loves to teach. she keeps you on your toes and awake. she gets excited and is so enthusiastic. her test are fair and straight from the book. a handful of questions will come strictly from notes given in class, but they arent enough to cost you a letter grade due to not going. her final is comprehensive but it is optional.

Pros: Easy class

Great professor

Great to help you see what all you can do with a degree in Psycholoy

Ideal if you are unsure if psychology should be your major
Cons: None
Love her. The class was simple. You only meet once a week. She had a different speaker each class and all you had to do was answer a few questions about the speaker and a few things you learned from their presentation.

Pros: Extremely nice and Helpful!
Mrs. Armstrong is a very nice woman who cares a lot for her students. She is also very enthusiastic about the subject matter, which helps. Her class was my favorite this semester. The tests are fairly easy, and you can earn extra credit through PRP stuff. Take her class. It will be a refreshing break from hard Psych classes!!

I really liked Mrs. Armstrong. I never came to class once I found out that if you are not a freshmen than attendance does not matter. If you miss a class you can just make it up during the final exam period, and yes there is plenty of time to do so. This class should of been an easy A, but I am an engineering senior so I had other classes to focus on.
