CH 101
Chemistry - A Molecular Science
5*****
I really love the way he teaches. He allows students to get involved and work together to understand the material during class. His way of teaching is unique and he has a nice personality that is needed in other teachers.

Mr. Neyhart is very enthusiastic about Chemistry. Note taking in his class is very easy to follow and he's very open to questions and making sure you get as much as you can out of the class.

Neyhart is a great Chemistry teacher; he's brilliant, always prepared, and has a great personality that makes you want to learn the material. In terms of the classwork, you will make an A if you do the pre-class lessons and the webassigns a day or two in advance, if not more, for every class and follow the study guides on his website. I.e., you will want to memorize everything Neyhart posts on his website, especially nomenclature, which is pure memorization. As long as you read the book before classes, and go to the Chemistry tutorial center and S.I. for help, you can ace the class; study for the exams a week or so in advance and always do the WebAssigns. (No excuses are permitted, the lowest six WebAssign scores are dropped, but other than that, you get no slack.)

Chemistry is difficult for most no matter how it's taught but if you go to his classes and pay attention with a little studying on the side you should be able to get the hw and manage a B.

Chemistry is a hard subject so don't expect an easy professor. Neyhart is good, but it still comes down to the fact that CH101 is a weed out class and that is just what they try to do.

CH 101
Chemistry - A Molecular Science
5*****
Pros: Extremely nice, enthusiastic, and approachable professor who is fantastic at explaining things and giving relevant examples in class. Study guides on WebAssign are extremely similar to the exams and are really great at helping you know what to study. He drops the lowest 6 WebAssign grades, and slightly curves the class (your grade in the class is determined by dividing your points by the points of the 9th best person; ie. if you score a 175/200 on an exam (87.5%), but the 9th best person scored a 188, you calculate your grade by dividing 175/188=93%.
Cons: None
Dr. Neyhart is probably the friendliest professor I've had thus far. His enthusiasm/mannerisms remind me of Bill Nye the Science Guy, and he also explains things amazingly. Even people who get C's and D's on the exams don't say bad things about him (at least from what I've heard). Exams and WebAssigns are fair, and you won't have to spend too much time outside of class reviewing material since he teaches so well. CH 101 is notoriously difficult at State, but you won't regret taking him. A good student who studies and keeps up with assignments can easily earn an A in his course. TAKE HIM!

CH 101
Chemistry - A Molecular Science
5*****
Pros: Very easy to understand

Knows what he is teaching

Cons: Talks to you like a middle schooler

Doesnt directly answer questions
Great teacher, the only thing I dont like is that he teaches his class like a freshman high school class. Also, he doesnt really answer questions. If you keep up with the webassigns, you will be fine. Tests were not that bad, just study a little and you'll be fine.

Pros: Great professor, very easy to understand. He is very enthusiastic, and very willing to help you learn. Your overall grade is also curved based on the 96th percentile of the class.
Cons: Frequent homework, tests were difficult.
CH 101 is by no means meant to be an easy class, and you do need to work at it. But Neyhart is one of the better professors!

Pros: He is extrememly enthusastic and obviously enjoys teaching Chemisty. He never belittles anyone, answers all questions, and despite CH 101 being a large class he makes sure to make everyone feel included by having mini experiments during lecture with volunteers. Truly, he is Bill Nye the Science Guy.

Cons: Doesn't go too in depth during class, sometimes just skims over important material too quickly.
