SOC 10000 - Introductory Sociology
anyone who sits through his class all semester (he takes attendance) deserves an A, and probably will get one too. you could take this class for what it is, a joke, and earn a solid B. if you put a little bit of effort in you should be able to get an...

SOC 22000 - Social Problems
Pros: seriously, none.
Cons: He is the WORST professor i've EVER had...and I've had some pretty bad ones. Honestly, going to class is a waste of time except you get a bunch of extra credit. He rambles for the entire period. At our exam, he spent 5 minutes explaining *why* we needed to fill in the bubbles for our names, and how the scantron machine works. seriously, it was bad. The exam was 106 T/F questions that were so ambiguous. You were allowed to use notes/book but had NO TIME to look anything up. The questions were opinionated and obscure. AVOID THIS CLASS or take it with another professor. so awful he shouldn't be allowed to be a professor.

Pros: -Attendance not required (it's extra credit)

-An easy A if you attend class

-No HW/Projects/Quizzes

-Little to no workload

-Exams are open note/book
Cons: -Very Boring Prof

-Very Monotone

-Uses pointless stats

-Kinda politically bias
Mr. Hillis doesn't deserve a teaching job. He doesn't care for the students and has little respect for his TAs. Although his class is an easy A if you pay attention, it is hard to stay attentive because he is such a boring prof. If you go to class and pay attention for half the time, you should do fine in the class. If not, I wouldn't recommend this prof.

Pros: Exams are ridiculously easy. First one was open book and the second one was take home.
Cons: Awful to have to sit through lectures, he kind of rambles. Takes attendance every day b/c at the beginning of the semester he takes a vote on whether or not to take it, and all of the freshmen vote yes b/c they don't know that 100 level classes are easy as pie and they won't need the attendance grade boost
Its a really easy class, I take my computer and never listen... I have an A. Also, I just go in late every day (about 10-20 minutes) and they still let me fill in the attendance sheet

Pros: I didn't buy the book, the first exam was open note open book. I didnt pay attention to a single lecture or take a single note all semester and i have a B in the class. Just show up and use common sense on the exams and you'll be fine.
Cons: This prof is horrible to listen to. He rambles on and on and it usually isn't even anything having to do with what will be on the exam, he just likes to hear himself talk. The class never gets out early, he takes attendence every day, and it is just mind numbingly boring.

Pros: No Homework

Take Home Test(s)

Easy Class

Cons: Boring Lecturer

Takes Attendance
Mr. Hillis is a pretty boring professor. He is VERY repetitive during his lectures. 95% of the students in his lecture pay little to no attention during class. He occasionally screeches into his microphone when the class get too loud which is very annoying. If you read the text before exams and show up to class, you should easily get an A or B.

Attendance isn't mandatory for this class and most people just play on their laptops. The proff goes over the material very slowly and you technically don't need the textbook. Quizzes are online and open-note and are just graded for completion.

Class is Boring but you can't go wrong. Open book exams including the final. The worst you can do is get a B. So go to class and get the attendance check and you should be good to go
