TAKE AMY AUSTIN FOR ENGINEERING MATH I AND II! I don't know how much clearer that can get. Professor Austin has a knack for explaining calculus to those of us who never had the privilege of taking calculus in high school. The tests are common exams across all of MATH 151 and 152, and she makes these tests, so it would be to your advantage to have the prof that makes the test right? Riiiight. Her notes are fill-in-examples type, which is nice because it allows the student to focus on what is being written instead of worrying about writing it all down. She ready and willing to help outside of class also.

Even if you're not in her class, most ppl learn from her (from her online videos and review sessions).
So if you're going to learn from her if you take her or not.... don't take her.
Since she's such a great teacher she DEFINITELY grades harder. She expects you to do it her way...
So my advice is to learn from her online and in review or even go to her class... just don't take her as your teacher.
Get a teacher that grade's easier.

Amy Austin is a complete badass. She is the one that really helped me with understanding calculus and since she writes most of the common exams you have a definite advantage. Plus shes in charge of the study sessions for all the teachers and therefore you have another advantage there too. Only drawback is some people don't like her because she will stay on one example for 10 minutes to show every single step, but personally I think with math its absolutely necessary to do this to learn, so I loved her for it.

Great professor, just go to class, study the notes and old exams and its a fairly easy course. she writes all of the engineer's calculus I and II tests so having her as a prof is an advantage. if you don't get in to her class, studying her notes is still a good idea because test questions are usually similar.

Pros: She really cares about her students and dedicates a lot of time to them. She loves when people ask her questions. She definitely knows her stuff.
Her class is designed to help you make a good grade. If you do the homework she assigns, there is no reason to get a bad grade.
