THAR 101 - HNR-INTRO WEST THEATRE DRAMA
VERY enthusiastic. I had him at 8 am, and he always tried his best to keep his lecture exciting.
Gives extra credit opportunities.
Requires you to watch theatre plays outside of class.
Overall great professor :)

THAR 101 - HNR-INTRO WEST THEATRE DRAMA
Need to watch the movies for the class.
Pros:
He is very enthusiastic and knows what he is talking about. He doesn't believe in class on Fridays so he let's us skip and only makes us come to one Friday class a month. His exams are what are on his power points. He gives you an exam review, also. He's a pretty cool guy. Really funny and looks like the little monopoly man cartoon.
Cons:
His voice is loud but he sometimes talks too soft for as big as the class room is. He also has exams that include movies you have to watch outside of class which is a pain. He asks detailed questions about the movies and it is very likely that guessing will get you the right answer.

Pros: Funny
Understanding
Readily Available
Considerate
Caring
Cons: More enthused by subject than students
Grades harsher than expected
I took the honors section of his class, so I can't describe the tests, but I can tell you that he is a great teacher. He is really concerned with knowing his honors students and makes an effort to make sure you are getting the best understanding of the information. The papers you have to write seem easier than they are, and his grading scale is not what I originally expected it to be. However, he gives opportunities for extra credit and is always available to help you improve. I highly recommend him.

I took the honors section of this class and it was fun- lots of discussion, lots of writing, but Schultz is engaging both in discussion and lecture. One 1000 word essay, one 4000 word essay, one oral presentation, weekly discussion. One take home exam of two 1000-word essays at the end of the semester. Homework indicated is preparation for discussion, which is not taken lightly. Graded in terms of your participation in discussion.
Dr. Schultz is the best! Such a grandfatherly, kind, and whimsical man. Definitely my favorite prof so far.

Pros: Interesting
Quirky
Passionate
Caring
Cons: Expects a lot from you (he really wants you to learn the material, and put some effort into the class)
High expectations (not an easy A)
Overall, an A is possible, you just have to keep up with the class and be disciplined. Don't fall behind. Attend lectures, because most of them are interesting and funny and will definitely help you remember the material.
The A will not be easy, and he really expects a lot from his students.
He is a pretty interesting individual :)

Pros: There is basically no hw for this class other than the weekly assigned veiwing of an assortment of videos. Some very involved extra credit is available if your willing to go the extra mile.
Cons: Test's are very tricky, there are only three of them so if you mess up on one your grade is pretty much determined.
I don't recommend this proffessor, the Test material is just too much and the questions are worded much too tricky to make a decent grade in this class.

Pros: He gives extra credit points sometimes for attendance.
Cons: You have to watch plays outside of class and they were very boring to me.
The class is only offered at 8 am.
There are only 3 test grades. Some of his extra credit (or supplemental learning as he calls it) is not feasible in my opinion.

Pros: I do not like 100 or 200 level classes..it's basically like spitting out a bunch of useless facts about theater. I like him personally--very entertaining, but his tests try to trick you. Use the flashcards and posted notes.
Cons: Hard tests, little to no extra credit, no curves

Pros: Really funny and overall a great guy. Exams are exactly what he describes they will be in the reviews he hands out.
Cons: His notes really don't help you at all to understand the material in my opinion but go to class because some questions on the exams are straight from class
