Her class was at 8:00 in the morning, yet she was the most incredibly positive and enthusiastic teacher I have EVER had. She was able to wake me up at 8 in the morning. There are Homework Assignments which are due every week, however there is an Accounting Help Desk which is EXTREMELY helpful...i went to it every single week. The test weren't too bad, but it is best to start studying more than a day before the test because the material builds on itself. Overall, great class and now I truly respect and appreciate the Accounting profession!

Once a week class is easy to forget about, but the tests are a little rough. Not too many questions, so if you miss a couple, you're already down a letter grade. If you keep up with the quizzes and the suggested practice for the exams, you should be good, but definitely not a blow-off class. Overall, the class isn't that difficult if you put effort into it.

Her class was at 8:00 in the morning, yet she was the most incredibly positive and enthusiastic teacher I have EVER had. She was able to wake me up at 8 in the morning. I absolutely love her enthusiasm about Accounting. She makes me look forward to an 8 am class and that is almost impossible to do. I would definitely take another class from her.

She's very enthusiastic at 8am. Her jokes are kinda lame but they still make everyone laugh.. sort of. She will do ANYTHING to help you pass. It is amazing how much she wants people to learn and she is so cool about it. I like her a lot. The book isn't really essential to passing though. It helped but I could see someone getting a low B without it.

For an 8 am on west campus, I was really glad to have her keeping me awake. Plus, more than once she took time out to help me one-on-one in a class of a couple hundred people. And she would do that for anyone.

Pros: very good professor! gives great lectures that helped me a ton if you print off the notes and follow a long!

Cons: only meet once a week so its easy to lose track of what your learning

Pros: Shes always really excited with the subject which helps at 8 am in the morning. She posts old tests on e-learning

Cons: It's only once a week, so its hard to take a survey course in Accounting. For test preparation I felt the need to attend 4.0 and go and other tutoring to help pass the exams. Plus the online timed homework you have to constantly stay on top of outside of class. Some projects are also time-intensive but you only have an hour to input your answers online. (Make good notes on your working papers so you can go back and make corrections if the online quiz asks you to correct errors or go back and change something.)

Pros: Professor Stasny is a very approachable and friendly lady. Considering how many students she has in her class, she is very helpful and wants us to do well. She is also very enthusiastic considering the class is at 8am. The tests are not that difficult. I have been going to tutorjohn which is VERY helpful and most of the info for the tests comes from the practice exam and review that she posts online. She also gives you extra chances to earn full credit for the homework and one extra credit assignment making a B in this class very attainable and an A possible if you keep up from the beginning.

Pros: EXTREMELY NICE;

very funny and goofy;

wants you to succeed;

very positive;

"You'll be fine";

doesn't want to give below B's;

can be convinced to give take-home tests;

offers ALOT of office hours

Cons: scatter-brained;

not the greatest lecturer;

lots of ACCT209 students invade her office hours

Very fun prof who i'd recommend if you're not an ACCT major...

Pros: Very nice teacher, and more than willing to give you extra help if you go talk to her. Gives plenty of extra practice problems including old exams and reviews.

Cons: A few of the test questions can be tricky which she doesn't elaborate on in class. The class was only offered at 8am either Tuesday or Thursday so outside practice is necessary.

Pros: She is passionate about what she teaches, very funny, and tells great, non-accounting-related stories during class. She will brighten your morning. You only meet with her once a week.

Cons: You only meet with her once a week. You have to keep up with everything else online- quizzes, homework, etc. The classes are at 8 am :(

Pros: very energetic for an 8AM class but she's really helpful and really cares about her students. the homework is challenging but she posts the answers outside so you can check your work

Pros: She is very excited about and truly loves accounting which helps pay you pay attention at 8am. Provides a lot of outside assistance with homework/ quizzes.

Cons: A few things that ended up on the test were not covered in class nearly enough.

Great teacher who's spirit rubs off on everyone.

Pros: Very nice and understanding lady, was willing to help you in her office when you didn't understand the material. Quizzes were on elearning and could be retaken multiple times, super easy.

Cons: Material is hard/annoying. Have to keep up with the material to fully understand it.

Pros: Prof Stasny is awesome. She is really enthused about ACCT and makes it fun/interesting. I hated it at first, but she actually taught me how to do it, and it is very simple.

Cons: Theres not much to dislike about her. Sometimes she is wayyy too happy for an 8:00am class.

Pros: She is so quirky and genuinely excited to be teaching accounting. She'll tell stories. She makes all her materials available including outlines for the class. If you make a reasonable effort, you can make a reasonably high grade.
