Fun teacher. Makes class interesting and sometimes goes on random rants, which makes class much more fun. He likes things done his way and his way only, but if you comply with his requirements and take good notes in class, he is a fun teacher.

You have to go to class everyday or you will miss so much information. If you are not used to having a teacher/professor who only lectures than you will probably not do very well. We had three exams (3rd one was the also the final) and you had to read a selected book and write a paper over it. so the course load is light but you have to take good notes and be able to review for test on your own, he does not do test reviews. I will probably not take a class from him again, although he is funny and makes it intresting. Good luck!

Professor Tarnowieckyi is extremely knowledgeable. He has a "tough" attitude, but he's actually very funny because of his dry, cynical humor and his narrative way of illustrating historical events and causes. His lessons are easy to follow, and his tests are not that difficult if you study for them since they are all multiple choice. There was one three-page paper over a required reading (novel), but besides this, there is no homework and the purchase of a textbook is not required.

He's the kind of teacher that's still stuck in the high school mentality of no phones, no laptops, no leaving class early, etc., but he usually keeps class fun and it's a class I actually look forward to going to. He's a comedian and always looks to make a joke out of history.

Professor T is a great educator. I would highly recommend him to anyone who likes their professor to being serious, yet humorous. He is a good speaker, attentive to his students, and don't let the name fool you. He is full blown English speaking American. So Kudos for that too.

Pros: Great lecturer, really interesting to listen to and funny.
Cons: You really do have to go to class, if you miss you're kind of screwed.
Doesn't use the textbook at all, don't even buy it. Your only grades are tests and one essay on a book. The tests are based on his lectures only and there are no online notes or powerpoints so you really do have to go to class, but he is interesting so it's not bad at all.

Pros: Exams come straight from the lectures. He's very entertaining to listen to.
Cons: Lectures are the only class materials, so if you miss a day you'd have to get the lecture notes from someone else.
