I had her during her first semester at UF, so that might account [no pun intended..] for how horrible her class was. Don't expect to learn much from lectures. She just flips through slides expecting you to just magically get it once u hear her read them word for word. NOT recommended for non-accounting majors. This is by no means an intro level class; it is a weed out class that's not the slightest bit interesting. Only person i heard of doing well read the book and wrote outlines that made tutoring zone's stuff look like crap. Plan to study your butt off.

She reads off the slides. She attempts at making curves for the class but I heard our last curve was 4/3 of a point. The second exam had a 65% ish percent average. When class first started she seemed alright but as the exams added and grades went down... I'm not sure much people like her!!

Pros: Professor Goslinga is very organized in lecture, and it makes learning a lot easier.
Cons: Professor Goslinga is a particularly tricky test-writer.

Accounting is relatively boring for a lot of people.
To excel you must put in a lot of work.

Pros: i guess this class shows whether you should be an accounting major or not



i found the exams difficult, but to be fair, i probably did not study enough. the questions were pretty straightforward, and going over past exams will give you a good idea of what the real exam will be like.
Cons: weed-out class

lectures are neither interesting nor very helpful

potential GPA killer
i thought i studied enough for this class, but exam 1 immediately showed me the error of my ways! watching every lecture, taking notes, and completing the homework assignments were not enough...i think you really do have to study A LOT to do well in this class. i was also disappointed that the TA was available at exactly the times at which i had another class :(

just be prepared to put in a lot of time for this course before you register for it (aka, don't sign up for 18 credits like i did...WORST DECISION EVER), especially if you're an accounting major, because you must earn a B to be able to continue in the major. good luck!

Cons: Your never able to take the time to look over your tests because she is available for just 2 days after the tests for 3 periods each day. Even if you got there early you ended up waiting in line for at least an hour or two. Terrible class since the material your supposed to know by heart is basically the entire text book. Each sentence.

She always seems to be sick...give her some cough medicine and you'll be her new best friend.

This class changed a lot since I took it. Wasn't online at the time and we didn't use My Accounting Lab. She was just really boring. Probably still is.

Cons: The tests are extremely hard and you have to memorize way too many formulas. Goslinga tries to confuse you with test questions.
