PRINCPLS OF SOCIOLOGY

This lady knew what he was talking about, but I dreaded going to class because I was not interested in the subject, and she did not do a very good job in keeping me interested during the course. She takes random attendance, besides 2 times that she tells you about for a "book club" meeting. There are 3 book club meetings, 1 of which you present a book report on one of the 3 books she assigns, and the other two, you listen to other people's book report on the other two books. The other attendance checks are random, however, it is a minimal portion of your grade (10%). If you enjoy sociology, you might be able to handle her, but the subject just did not interest me, and I barely went to class. The quizzes are online, but they were harder for me, but I never failed one, and I probably didn't as well as I would've liked because I did not attend class, but most of the quiz material comes straight from the book anyways, so going to class was just mainly review material for each quiz that she gives every other friday of the semester. A B is definitely manageable if you dislike the course and if you actually try hard during the quizzes, but if you like the course and are good with sociological terminology and things of that nature, you can definitely manage an A.

All this class is is reading the book and doing online quizzes. she takes attendance only a few times but make sure you go. Just don't listen to her lectures because its not on the quizzes at ALL. Just buy the book and highlight it before the online quizzes.

Pros: The material is self-explanatory.
Cons: She isn't very exciting to listen to. Her quizzes can be tricky if you don't take the time to look through the information.
Overall an okay class. I didn't struggle passing the class, I struggled going to class because she was so boring. We did watch some interesting videos though.

She's pretty soft spoken but the class is an easy A if you read the assigned books. She's very nice and she has little knowledge of making multiple choice exams so they tend to be easy!

Pros: Just show up to class to take notes or get them from someone else. The tests are basically based on her notes! You don't really have to read the books!
