Jay Aronson is a good person, but honestly not the best teacher. He rambles a lot during class instead of giving you the necessary information for the exam. He did improve throughout the semester though. We usually didn't receive our test grades or lab practical grades until weeks later. Also, if you plan on reading the newspaper, or using the computer or cell phone during class prepare to get called out and lectured openly during class. It seems like he takes these things WAY too personally.

Pros: Easy A. Gives multiple tries on homework. Lab is not mandatory. Tests are straight forward, just do the in class activities and homework. She drops 3 homeworks and 3 in-class activities.
Part 1 is multiple choice and Part 2 of exam is open book.
Cons: She teaches kind of too fast and there are difficulties in teaching between macs and pcs on excel.
Overall, the class is really easy. I made an A. I never really paid attention, but in class activites are really easy. She walks through it for us. Just definitely go to class. And make sure to skim through the book for key terms and formulas when studying for tests. Also, take the homework seriously. It's easy, but pay attention to what you're doing so you'll actually learn. :)

Pros: There is an extra point added to your final grade and there were 2 extra points added if you participated in research
Cons: The powerpoints were all over the place and it was sometimes hard to get any information from them. You have to come to class everyday in order to get participation points.
This is not a class I would want to take again. I had to basically teach myself the material because class was pointless. The material is not that hard but when you dont get great instruction it makes it a little bit more difficult. I would definetly recommend a different professor. Aronson is nice and all but she is not a great teacher.

Pros: She genuinely does want to help her students, alothough you may have to wait until after class or venture to her office hours. The online quizzes and tests are pretty simple, as you get multiple tries.
Cons: Class is mandatory, and extremely boring. There are wayyyy too many people in the class to do activities on our computers in class, because obviously there are going to be individual troubles with everyone's computer, and she gets frustrated with this easily. VERY boring class.

Pros: you can teach yourself most of the things in class by using the myitlab program
Cons: she is a very boring teacher, and wastes a lot of class time by giving pretty useless announcements and telling stories about programs that are now obsolete. It would be fine if you could skip class, but she makes you submit excel worksheets to elc, and you won't know which one if you don't go to class
worst class i've taken so far. mind numbing boredom sets in during the first class with her.

Pros: NONE!!
Cons: She doesn't teach you anything. She stands in front of the class coughing and bragging about how great she used to be when she was in the business world. It doesn't matter how awake you are before class she will put you straight to sleep. The only fun part of the semester is the Lego project. If you study the tests can be alright some tricky questions. I hated the class so much i just didn't want to study.

Pros: The material is not too difficult if you go to class.
Cons: The class was extremely disorganized and sometimes it seemed like she didn't know what she was talking about. Don't use a mac for this class because you will run into a ton of problems with excel. She is not the fastest grader and also is not the most friendly professor I've had. I would not take this class with her.

Cons: Class is mandatory since you have assignments everyday, which sucks because all you do in class is watch irrelevant youtube videos and listen to aronson ramble about his life and random companies and such. Avoid this teacher (and this class) if at all possible! My lab TAs were ok, but some are really awesome and will help you alot in the lab section of the class.

Pros: The class itself is extremely useful to every business student
it is very easy and not difficult to follow
Cons: Attendance is mandatory
Aronson is the product of a recent sex change and his/her appearance, mannerisms and voice are at times laughable and distracting
Aside from the personal issues this class is helpful as well as easy for anyone who needs to take it

Pros: The grades were curved dramatically at the end because the MSIT department received so many formal complaints against Dr. Aronson
Cons: He was rarely prepared for class, and when he was, he didn't explain topics very well. He always seemed distracted. He deducted large amounts of points off for minor errors on tests and assignments.

Pros: Easy.
Cons: He/she is very annoying and uninformative, seems like he/she doesn't know how to answer any questions that slightly deviate from his/her plans. Requires you to buy the brand new edition book, and the latest version of microsoft office for your computer.

No quizzes given but there are mandatory participation points given each day. These aren't hard, they are basically the same questions given over and over again and it's basically, if you do it you get credit. Don't take the class with her if at all possible!

Pros: This class is basically just learning how to work with excel. It isn't too bad. You have to go to class because at the end of class you submit the work you do to ELC for attendance.
