she is a very good teacher but the material in general is difficult because there is a lot of information to cover. there are 2 midterms and 1 final. you have quizzes every friday on each chapter. she recommends you read the chapter from the textbook before coming to the lecture but that is up to you, but it does help a little. definitely oay attention to what she has on the syllabus because she has a list of practice problems from the book that may help you on the quizzes/exams. if you have difficulties with certain chapters go see a TA to go over the material. trust me it does help. when it comes to exams she tends to combine more than one chapter into 1 problem. there are only 25 questions. both the quizzes and exams are all multiple choice. overall i give this course a 3 just because it was really hard for me personally and wish i had known about the other professor or had just weighted till the summer to take it.

This class is hard. Theres no way around it. If you go to the TA's office hour's it will make a BIG difference though. If you don't understand something in class, go to Swati's class and ask her to explain it more and she will.

Swati is kind of hard to understand sometimes. The class may seem easy at first, but when you finally take the first exam you quickly discover that the entire thing is trying to trick you. Just be warned.

Very hard class. Demanding and time consuming. Swati is a good teacher and very nice person but it was a very difficult class if accounting doesn't click with you!

Pros: I loved Dr. Bhan. She is a great teacher and really wants you to do well. She gives you all the tools you need to pass the class. All the lectures are easy to understans and you can tell she really knows what she is talking about.
Cons: Only 4 tests so that means each one is worth a large portion of your grade. No extra credit.
If you take this class I recommend that you constantly study. If you cram the night before the test you will fail. She gives you practice questions and extra problems so you will be prepared. She doesnt take attendance but you need to go to class everyday!!! She gives you powerpoints that you have to fill in.

Hard class, and if your any kind of business major there is no way around it. Swati is an excellent accounting teacher who gives you everything you need to do good in her class, practice questions, helpful power points, problems done in class, etc. She is strict while in class meaning no labtops, cellphones, sleeping, of any kind. The class is very hard, but if you need to take accounting I highly recommend her because you wont find a better teacher

Pros: She explains everything thoroughly, but it takes a certain type of person to fully understand the material.
Really tries to make sure the students understand the material.
Cons: Slight accent - a bit hard to understand at times.
She gives sample problems (MC questions) with each chapter. DO THEM!!! Do them until you know how to do each one without looking at your notes. Also, DO NOT miss class.

Pros: Really nice professor
Cons: Very difficult material
Dr. Bhan is very very sweet. It's the material that is difficult. Also I'm pretty sure there aren't any options on teachers for this course so just take the time to study, go to office ours, and do the practice problems. It is possible to get an A in this class.

Make sure you buy the book and do the practice problems, you should be covered from there.

Pros: She cares very much and lets you know what is expected of you. She gives you all the materials you need to succeed and you will know exactly what to expect on tests.
Cons: She's a bit of a stickler in class. She will call you out if you are talking or using a cellphone. Her tests are very hard and require lots of studying.
The class was definitely hard but you know what is expected of you. It just requires a lot of preparation unless you just "get it". Do not take the tests lightly, especially if you do well on the first one.

Pros: Passionate about accounting
No homework
Cons: Tests are hard and tricky
Only 4 tests
Difficult to understand
The class itself shouldn't be too hard to understand but it is often hard to understand Swati and it is hard to focus in class. The test questions are very trick and doing bad on one tests messes up your whole grade because there are only 4 tests. She never curves grades or test results. If you study regularly every day instead of the week before the test then you should be able to get a B in the class

Pros: She definitely knows her stuff and is a VERY nice person if you talk to her. She tells it like it is and won't sugar-coat things.
Cons: The class itself is really hard, and her tests are difficult. (difficult is more of an understatement.)
She is a great teacher and really loves what she does. You have to seek out help for her class, because it is difficult, but if you ask she will help you. She always clears things up and tells you exactly how it is. I would most certainly recommend her as a teacher.

Pros: explains everything clearly, only things on powerpoint will be tested on so make sure you go to class.
Cons: Tons of work, really dislike her attitude (she would pause class and scold people for coming late/leave early, and cellphone etc.), basically makes you print the powerpoints.
Just make sure you go to class, pay attention, don't do anything stupid or piss her off, do practice problems and you'll be fine. she's not the greatest professor but i believe she is one of two intro acct professors.

Pros: Good teacher
solid example in class
listening to her accent really entertains me (in a good way)
class material is pretty interesting if you like numbers
Cons: Accent might have got in the way sometimes, no big deal
i didn't like her at the start, but now i really miss her. She's strict, but she's a really good teacher. It's not as hard as everyone makes it. Got a semi easy A, test usually falls on tues or wedn night, start studying no later than monday, usually the weekend before. (GO TO CLASS)

I love Swati as a person but she gets a bad reputation because accounting is a difficult course. She is very wise when it comes to the course and she really tries her best to make the class bearable. Also she really does care if her students do well. She scares most people i the beginning however by saying they must devote themselves to the class to do well. If you follow all of her study tips then you will do well in her class.

Pros: She's a nice, passionate lady
Cons: Accounting is just hard...there's no way around it
Class requires a lot of effort and time commitment. If you take this, you'll take it with her. She's a sweet lady and often funny. Come to class, take notes, do the practice questions, study like crazy and you should be fine. There's no way around this one, at least she tries to make the class pleasant even if the tests aren't.

Pros: She is extremely funny and is a very good teacher. She knows what she's talking about. She is willing to help and wants you to do well, but you have to do your part.
Cons: The class is by no means easy. It's very difficult, but her teaching is so helpful. Accounting is difficult by nature, so no matter who teaches it, it will be difficult. So you have to invest a lot of time to this class.
