This class can be really hard. The trick is to go to office hours... Not only will she like you more, she'll tell you exactly what to study, and maybe even which questions you can expect to see on the test. I had an F test average, started going to her office hours, and got As the whole rest of the semester! Tests are only 20 questions, and are very similar to what she does in class--just much harder. Expect to have to go to class and study.

Pros: Rewards students for showing up to class through extra credit on the test. Very helpful during office hours, though they are packed with students. Likes to trick you on the test, but will hint at what her tricks will look like. Usually adjusts grading scale at the end to help students out.
Cons: Tests are nothing like her personality. They're tricky and unpleasant, and her attitude sometimes makes you feel more comfortable with the material than you should before the test.

Pros: Interesting subject if you like accounting. If you hated financial, you won't necessarily hate this because it is nothing like it.
Cons: Very difficult tests. Students who wait till the last minute to study will fail. Her grades make a perfect bell curve, with the peak at about 75-76.
Get to know her, and take advantage of office hours; she will clear up any issue you may have.

There is not much point in reading up on Farmer because you will have her no matter what; she is the only managerial accounting professor at UGA.

Pros: She is such a sweet person and will help all of her students any way possible.

She takes attendance, but only 12 times throughout the year and of those times only 10 count.

All her notes are on elc, so it's not a big deal if you do have to miss a few days.

Tests are taken at night, and grades are normally up within two days.
Cons: This class is HARD. You must study regularly for it.

Farmer does give you some practice problems, but not nearly as much as Swati.

Pros: Great teacher and fun in class.
Cons: Four tests with 20 questions each are the only grades. Pretty tricky material. Not many practice questions made available. Attendance quizzes.
Farmer is a fun, engaging teacher who makes hard material seem straightforward. It can be tricky and sometime you don't see some of the test questions coming. It is important to go to class because she slips in details in her lectures that you wouldnt otherwise know.

Pros: Professor Farmer is one of the nicest professors I have had at UGA. But as she said on the first day of class, don't let her country accent and pretty smile fool you. Her class is really hard. You have to study and put a lot of effort into it. But if you do the practice problems and listen to her in class, you should do fine on the tests. She also gives a lot of hints about her tests when she lectures.
Cons: The tests are really hard.

Pros: She knows her stuff. She's adorable and makes class interesting. She really wants to see everybody do well so she'll help you any way she can. Even if you don't do well on the tests you can make a decent grade in the class if you have all of the attendance points.
Cons: Tests are hard. You have to keep up with the material and study a lot.
Go to class. Pay attention. Print the powerpoint slides before you go. Go to office hours.

Pros: Super nice, very personable and wants students to succeed.
Cons: If you aren't a person that this stuff comes easily to then it's going to be a hard class.
She is a great teacher. She does give "quizzes" with each chapter but they are done online and are to help give you more test like questions. And you can check your answers with friends before you submit them but be weary, most quizzes have two different versions.

Pros: she's a good teacher and she keeps class interesting. if you listen to her in class and put some study time in on the weekends you will do fine
Cons: its accounting... so it is pretty challenging. the tests can be really tricky and worded in a really confusing way. you really need to understand everything well to get a good grade in the class

Pros: She's very friendly and enthusiastic, she really knows what she is talking about, rewards students for showing up to class by giving random extra credit, tests are not cumulative so if you do bad on one it doesn't mean you will do bad on all of them
Cons: very tricky tests, only 20 questions so they are weighted heavily

Pros: -shes a happy person so it makes the class easier to sit through

-she lets you know ahead of time what her tricks are on the exams and she will give you a bnuch of hints on what shes gonna ask about

-her office hours really help

-her notes are easy to follow
Cons: -the class is definetly not easy

-exams are 3 hours long

Pros: She's really nice and pretty cool in general.
Cons: This was the hardest class I had to take here so far. Some of the concepts are just hard to understand. There is a lot of information to remember just for once exam. You MUST study and really try to understand the concepts to pass this class.

Tests were tricky.

Pros: I actually somewhat enjoyed the class. You feel accomplished when you understand it. Felt like it was much easier than ACCT I. Didn't buy the book. Just lean the notes and do as many practice problems as she gives you. Also,she's kind of a dime.
Cons: Tests definitely were tricky but I made Three 95s and an 85

Fantastic professor! She is really great with the material, will take time to get to know you and work with you in the areas where you need help. She turns a boring subject into an enjoyable one. She will try and trick you on tests, but if you just grind it out and keep up with the work you will be fine

Pros: Geat Teacher

very interesting

very pretty

knows what she's doing

great help outside of class
Cons: kind of a southern accent, but rarely got in the way
I really enjoyed the class, made a easy A, usually test is tues or wedn night, start studying no later than monday and you will be fine

Pros: Very knowledgeable on subject and has actual experience as a CPA so she isn't just making stuff up. Likes to talk and is way more interesting than Swati.
Cons: She knows how to write her tests in a way that has 4 answers that you will likely choose before you get the right one.

Pros: Very friendly and approachable. Very knowledgeable about the subject. Provides lots of examples and practice problems.
Cons: Tests are difficult and require a lot of studying. But if you attend class and take the practice tests she puts up, you will be fine.

She really does know her stuff. Just don't let her warm personality fool you because her tests can be very tricky. Going to class definitely does help because she gives hints to what her test questions will be and what tricks she might use.

Cons: hardest class i've taken at UGA so far. tests are 21 questions and they take you the full 3 hours to do. be prepared to put a lot of time and effort into this class. you cant get behind
