He is a very good teacher, however the class is an hour fifteen and for about 30 minutes of it he spends talking about current events ect. that arent relevant to the test. So I only went to class to recieve the study guide and test and few times in between. Attendance is extra credit!

He is a nice guy, just his tests are way different than what he talks about in class and the concepts are a little overwhelming. He makes it seem like the tests are ok, then you take them and they are confusing.

I only put "book used: A LOT" because if you don't read the chapter, you will get some of the questions on the tests wrong. This is basically a lecture class but it is pretty interesting. You can take notes, but still read the chapter. You'll thank me later. He is overall a pretty good teacher, but can be a bit boring at times.

Pros: Only takes attendance as an extra credit "one point on final grade" opportunity. 4 tests, drop your lowest test grade.
Cons: Does not post lecture slides online. Tests are extremely difficult, even though he gives a study guide, knowing everything on it won't even guarantee you a C.
If weather isn't your niche, take a difference science.

Pros: Very helpful teacher.
Cons: Tests are harder than he makes them seem.
The subjects are hard and he doesn't post the powerpoints online. However, when you're taking notes in class he'll stay on the slide until everyone is done writing. He is a nice person and is helpful. The class itself is hard.

Doesn't post ANYTHING on ELC besides handouts so you have to go to class. Also our class didn't have a discussion bored until almost the end of the semester

Pros: Nice guy, definitely passionate about geography. You can tell he wants his students to do well and that he really knows what he's talking about.
Cons: He uses traditional lecture style, with just your basic Powerpoint notes and not much else. You have to really pay attention when he explains the slides and not just copy down information, which is difficult because some of the materials isn't exactly the most interesting.
I really just did not like this class. Some of the topics we covered were pretty interesting--like volcanoes and severe weather--but apart from that, I was just bored. This was the first class in which I've ever had trouble staying awake. Unless you're a geography major or something, bring some coffee, and if you can't resist the temptation to check Facebook in between taking notes, make sure you read the book after class.

Pros: he absolutely loves this subject, which kinda makes you want to love it too. Sometimes his lectures are interesting, and it's really neat to finally learn about stuff that actually affects you every day.
Cons: sometimes this class is VERY boring and he doesn't post his lectures online. you CANNOT miss a lecture and still understand what is going on in the class.
weather and climate is MUCH MUCH MUCH harder than you think it would be. I never miss class, I read the book, and I study, and I'm probably going to get a B in the class.

Pros: Great knowledge of material and takes time explaining subjects to give students ample time to ask questions and take notes.
Cons: Doesn't post slides on elc so you have to come to class. Test can be somewhat confusing.
Interesting class but you must like the subject otherwise you will spend the whole semester only concerned with what is going on with your friends on facebook.

Pros: Kind of nerdy guy, shows youtube videos sometimes, drops lowest test before the final
Cons: Hard tests, no answer key check, boring lectures
I thought this class would be an easy A, but even with studying more and more for each of the 3 tests, my grades got worse. The book wasn't very helpful either. Grundstein is a nice guy but doesn't put a lot of energy into his lectures.

Pros: Nicest guy ever!
From California- related a lot to the weather there.
attendance not required
note takers
Cons: although you take all the notes, review and go to class, the exams can be extremely confusing. One of those subjects you either get or don't.
Such a nice guy, nothing wrong him, but the class it much harder than it should be for a 1000 level

Pros: He drops the lowest test grade and gives extra credit for coming to class. Never opened the book (the tests just cover what is on the notes).
Cons: He doesn't post the notes online. The second test is quite hard (weather and climate). The lectures are quite boring, but the attendance extra credit is helpful.

I took him because people said that he was a great teacher and he is interesting. He know the material so well that he doesn't understand that the students are new to this material. Therefore, his test are extremely difficult and more detailed then necessary. I suggest you go with a different teacher for this class.

sit up front during lecture. if you get behind, do something about it. study study study for this class. I'll probably end up with a B- but you just really have to study for the tests and you'll be fine!

Pros: He's a nice, friendly guy that knows a lot about his subject matter.
Cons: Lectures can be a little disorganized at times. Usually you can come up with questions to study that should be on an exam. Chances are, those aren't going to be on there. Many of the questions seem to be rather obscure, and main topics are left off.

Pros: He drops your lowest test score.
Cons: He states that his exams are only based on his lectures but some of his test questions really don't pertain to the information he presented in class. He also doesn't post his slides on ELC. Sometimes he goes a little fast in class. His final also counts a lot for the final grade.

Pros: NONE
He is the worst teacher I've ever had. So unorganized. He makes the material seem so east and simplifies it to the fullest and then the test are nothing he ever went over! If you take this course, do not buy the book considering he encourages you NOT to read it & buy the notes from your class notetaker.
