ECON 2105 - PRIN OF MACROECON
Hartman obviously has his presentations planned out ahead of time, and you can expect at least one painfully corny joke per class. They are literally so bad, they make you laugh at how bad they are. I could easily see a character on "The Office" made in Hartman's honor.
Pros:
*No need to buy the book
*Class can be learned from just going to class and studying the slides
Cons:
*Very easy to fall asleep in class, his voice is very monotone

Be prepared to visit the tutoringzone for some help. He is all over the place in his notes, repeating himself a million times and never making any sort of sense. I didn't get the book, but I don't think it would have helped much anyways. There a 2 open note, open book quizzes that are really easy as long as you go to class to get the notes. As for class, bring your laptop and surf the net, but pay attention, you gotta fill in your blanks on the note guides and sometimes he adds extra information. When it comes to tests, it only helped me to go to the tutoringzone. I failed my first test, but got an A on the second one thanks to them.

The book isn't not necessary. Just go to his class and take good notes. Review notes for the test and do the practice questions Dr. Hartman posts. Lecture can get a bit boring but its fairly doable.

Pros: you can tell he loves the subject
Cons: monotone
boring
All this class is is lectures and tests. It would have actually been nice to have some sort of homework assignment every now and then because then i would have a better idea of what we needed to know for the tests. Nothing is online so if you take bad notes/ miss something in the lecture, you won't realize how f*** you are until the test.
I gave him 2 stars because maybe its just my dislike for the subject but i thought this class was impossible.

Pros: His notes really explain the information clearly so if you study them and manage to listen to his lecture you'll at least understand the content of the course.
Cons: His lectures are not engaging at all even though he likes to tell a corny joke once in a while to keep things interesting. His tests are extremely tricky even if you studied the note guides entirely.

My suggestion is to get the notes from the bookstore or get them from someone who already took it. He doesn't really change his notes. Study the notes and you will do fine on the tests. His lectures are very boring and dry so be prepared. He is like montone version of kermit the frog. He can be funny but it's because of his awkwardness.
