You can't understand her too well and she spends way too much time on stupid details. I have not listened at all or read the book, but I have an A. Easy but boring class.

If you have ever taken an art history course before, even in high school, you will get every annoyed with this class. This class is so elementary it bored me to tears. She is a very nice teacher, but kinda hard to understand at times (took me 3 weeks to realize that asian mean ancient). Also, she is knowledgeable, but only to a degree. I caught her teaching the class things about the art pieces that were COMPLETELY untrue! Other than that the class is an EASY EASY A. You should have no problem with getting one, especially if you already have some prior knowledge. If not, just go to class. She lectures directly from the book.

Pros: The class is insanely easy; if you read the books and just go over her power-points, you'll get an A.
Cons: she's hard to understand, and her class will feel like a waste of time. but if you're looking to just fulfill a credit in humanities, I would definitely take this class.

ART APPREC

Pros: If you sit up front and take good notes, you can make an A in this class with minimal effort. However, studying is necessary unless you are already familiar with the course material. If you have already taken an Art History course, then this class should be an easy A. Not an easy A for a general elective otherwise. Not a course for sleepy slackers.
Cons: It is very difficult to understand her lectures due to her thick accent. Uses powerpoint lecture format and puts her lectures online prior to each test. Powerpoints do not have much information on them. Most information on specific pieces of art is discussed in class. Information on certain pieces of art is based largely on her opinion and her interpretation. Did not use a microphone in class, which made it even more difficult to understand her.
If you can take notes during the lecture on information she discusses, the tests should be easy. I wanted an easy A in this class, but it didn't go so well.

Pros: This class is pretty easy. There are 3 tests, 4 short journals, and 2 creative assignments. Tests are mostly remembering what she said about the different paintings/works and how to interpret them, so pay attention in class! Not much reading - mostly covers what we talked about in class, but I'm sure it helps when the test comes. Takes attendance randomly but frequently.

Cons: Class can get dreary at times because sometimes she only covers about 4-10 pieces of art through a TR class time period, and then speeds through all the ones she didn't get to through the last 8 minutes of class and usually doesn't realize when it's time for class to end and won't stop till half the class has already left (which still is only up to 3 minutes late, so it's not a big deal). Also, I think her mic was taken from the room, but don't sit in the back, because you won't be able to hear most of what she's saying.

Cons: Can hardly understand her. My frustration kicks in and I stop listening. She bases some of the tests on lecture (during which she'll teach things that are sometimes different from what the book says) which is ridiculous when you cannot understand a word she says. While I appreciate her love for the subject, the language barrier ruins this class. I got a 76% on a test that I legitimately studied for, because most of the questions involve the "all of the above" option.
AVOID if you can. Most frustrating class I've taken at UGA. Wasn't too terribly difficult, but if you truly like art, this will make you UNappreciate it.

The class is easy if you read the textbook, but I would NOT recommend it. The class was not interesting at all. I could hardly pay attention. She frequently went five minutes over the class time, which would be fine once or twice, but she started doing it every day, and by the regular end of class you're already dying to get out. She took attendance every day, which was pretty impractical as the class had about 150 people (there was a sign-in sheet that was passed around, and it would miss a lot of people). So I'd say only take this class if you really want an easy A, but know you're in for boredom and frustration

Pros: The class is an easy A.
Cons: This class made me NOT appreciate art. Everything was too routine and formulaic and we spent more time turning in/collecting our graded papers than actually learning. I hate waking up so early just so I can wait to have my paper given back to me when there's 300 students.

Pros: Overally, a pretty easy course. I would recommend it if you need that extra fine arts credit or just an easy A
Cons: Li likes to drag on and she had a bad habit of going over time. Not the most interesting class if you're not totally interested in art, and she does take attendance.

Pros: I can't really think of any.
Cons: Can't understand her.

Grades to harshly for non-art students.

This class is really not enjoyable. I do not suggest it. And it's not a complete easy A, if that's what you're thinking.

Very boring class. She tends to repeat herself a lot. Tests were fairly easy (10 multiple choice and one easy question). She does in class participation so you have to go to class.
