CHEM 2211 - MOD ORGANIC CHEM I
People complain that his tests are harder than Hubbard, and that he starts slow and then speeds up around test time. But I haven't really seen any of that. His tests are the same format at Hubbards, and he's a really nice guy.
Pros: Keeps you entertained. Not monotone. And a great explainer!
Cons: It's O Chem...the entire class is just hard.

CHEM 2211 - MOD ORGANIC CHEM I
Pros: Well since he was one of the only ones teaching the course it you would have to take it with him. He is very enthusiastic and knows a lot about organic.
Cons: Tests are going to be the most difficult tests you probably have ever taken in your life. Study for hours and still just barely make a B. Book is only useful for part of the course, he often says that the book is wrong.

Cons: Tests are going to be the most difficult tests you probably have ever taken in your life. Study for hours and still just barely make a B. Book is only useful for part of the course, he often says that the book is wrong.

Pros: very good teacher

brings enthusiasm into every lecture
Cons: fairly hard exams

can be an ass
Morrison clearly knows his organic material, and he is a very good teacher. With that being said, he makes difficult exams compared to the other Ochem professors.

Pros: Very knowledgeable in Organic Chemistry.
Cons: Often gets off topic during lecture which causes him to try to cram material into the last five minutes of class.
This is a very tough class overall, stay on top of reading and do the extra problems.

Pros: Very good at explaining concepts.
Cons: Very slow with going over the materials.
I honestly thought Morrison was a better teacher than Hubbard. I took him the second time I took organic chemistry 1, and he explains everything in detail so that you actually understand how things work. He's very enthusiastic about the subject and is hilarious at times. Definitely not a boring teacher but can sometimes get too carried away with a topic that he loses track of time. But overall, excellent teacher. Plus his tests are easier than Hubbard's.

Pros: Dr. Morrison is a wonderful professor. He is very lively and keeps you engaged. You can't go wrong with him if you want to stay awake through lecture. He's the main guy for o-chem, so if he gets behind in lecture, there will not be extra info on the tests that other lecturers have covered.
Cons: He exhausts easy topics, but seems to run over hard topics that are on the tests.
O-Chem is hard. You can't go in this class expecting to get an A. If you do, you're going to be disappointed.

Pros: Morrison puts bonus questions on all the tests.
Cons: Taught the day of tests to squeeze in information.
The tests in Ochem are substantially more difficult than the book problems. The best way to study is to work out old test problems (without looking at the answers) and to do the scienceguyz problems.

Pros: Explains the stuff needed.
Cons: You have to put in a TON of work!
I took the class with his grad student. Doug Jackson. He knows what he is talking about. You must spend hours before each test. I Spent probably 20-25 hours per test and only scraped a C+ or B on each of them.

Pros: Very animated, wants students to understand and know what is going on.
Cons: Course is fast paced and exams are hard but thats just the class. He sometimes will rush through chapters in order to fit in all the material by exam time.

Pros: He actually cares about your success in the course. He is more straightforward and less tricky than some of the other professors in the chem department.
Cons: It is still organic chemistry, which is a rigorous course.
Overall the best choice for organic chemistry.

Pros: he explains the material pretty well. the last two exams are a lot like the book problems. he really cares about the students.
Cons: he tends to repeat same material. he gets behind most of the time and tries cram at the last minutes.

Cons: Gets off subject a lot, doesn't really lecture well. Lectures and some test questions are very sporadic and random.
i hear hubbard's better. Ochem is hard enough so try to take the best teacher possible

Pros: he's really funny and nice. the tests are hard, but not unreasonable. it's a hard class no matter what, but morrison is one of the better teachers.
Cons: sometimes moves slowly and then tries to cram in a lot

this is a very difficult class. And most people I know, including myself, could not get better than a C with morrison. TAKE HUBBARD

Goes through it very quickly
