Keane is very boring. I could not stay awake during lecture. He just goes through monotonous examples. There is about 6-8 hours of homework a week. Make sure you don't have a discussion section on Friday because that is the day that homework is due and the TAs generally give you some tips. His tests are not very fair. He got upset with the 210 students because not many of them went to class when they realized they would just fall asleep anyway and then he took out his anger on us with the final. The only good thing about 210 is that it is over before Thanksgiving break.

Pros: Straightforward exams, some curveballs though
Cons: Boring lecture

May make exams tougher if attendance drops off
Overall the course isn't that difficult. Do all the work, expect to spend 6-7 hours on homework every week and more time for studying. Do past exams.



DO NOT USE ONLINE SOLUTIONS to the homework. He has caught a bunch of people cheating and they all lost their homework grades and were reported.

Pros: Does a lot of worked examples during lecture
Cons: Teaches straight out of the lecture book
Has a very boring voice that sometimes puts you to sleep. He teaches right out of the lecture book so if you buy the book there is really no need to go to lecture.

Cons: unfairly hard exams, hard homework, poor lecturer, ta's aren't very helpful. you pretty much have to learn the entire course on your own.
