GENERAL CHEMISTRY II - S

She is a very nice person who, will answer any questions that you may have, and her class is relatively easy if you go to lectures. Having said this, I would not recommend her as a teacher for anyone who is continuing on in chemistry (and so will need the information), because she will not cover half the material as the other 201 teachers (and since the final is Prof. Noble's test, this can be a problem). But if you are just looking to get through the class with a decent grade, she's your choice.

She is a good teacher but doesn't ever explain what will EXACTLY be on the exam so you're never sure what to study...you end up focusing more attention on one thing and less on another while the exam will cover mostly the stuff you didn't think would be on there. The recitation was horrible! But I think it was mostly because the TA didn't really speak english that well. She never worked out problems fully. It was a waste of time; I only went when quizzes were given

Pros: Very helpful with one on one interaction. Provides tons of notes and explanations online and in class. Very willing to help when needed.
Cons: Exams were from a different prof. (prof. Noble).
Prof. Franco gives as much help as needed. Online she gives plenty of notes, including her own personal notes and powerpoints used in class. She was willing to help whenever needed. When it came to exams, however, the study guides and exam questions were made up by prof. Noble. This was not a big deal but they were a little different in wording and difficulty. Overall the class was very.... "pass-able".

Terrible. Doesn't care if students really understand- just zips though problems and goes through the motion. Class would be completely pointless except without going you have no idea what will be covered on the test because she jumps around an awful lot. Exams aren't fair because she doesn't give partial credit for the problems- if you get the answer wrong, you get 10 points off, even if you just miscalculated. Plus a lot of the questions are T/F...for chemistry!? Bull.

Pros: Don't worry about missing lecture, you won't miss anything that's not in the book.
Cons: She doesn't understand the material she teaches. She copies it from other professors, gets problems incorrect at least once a week, then cannot demonstrate understanding when students ask questions. I am very disappointed in this class.
AVOID TAKING Dr. Franco if at all possible.

Pros: I didn't have to go to class.
Cons: Horrible professor. Difficult to understand: accent and soft spoken. Was not helpful with questions and made several mistakes with the material that our class had to correct her on. Showed us powerpoints and didn't have any enthusiasm.

She sucks ass. Not only as a teacher but also speaking English correctly and staying on topic. She doesn't teach the concepts of chemistry but instead facts. Waste of time and I was lucky to get a C+ in her class. Do not take her or withdrawal.

this was the worst teach i ever had! she cant speak english and you have no clue what she is even saying. i would not recommend this class at all. she doesnt explain things well at all and just makes you confused. she is absolutely awful!
