Pros: Very intelligent in the field of astronomy. Makes lectures somewhat interesting. Labs are very short, easy and a grade booster.
Cons: Exams are pretty tough and there is a lot of material to cover. TA's grade homework and exams very stingy, usually taking away halfs of points for the smallest mistakes or omissions.

Awesome teacher. Workload is manageable, lots of material to remember though.

I'm not a major, and I thought this class would be about fun astronomy stuff...but this is ALL math. Yuck. Don't take it for a gen ed unless you're very VERY interested in the subject. So, so boring to me.

I enjoyed this class but it was a lot of material to learn. If you go to class and take notes you should do well on the exams. The lab was pretty easy and helpful in learning the content.

Prof Deming is pretty great, she is very passionate about astronomy and is always willing to answer questions.

Cons: The class was never interesting, she looked dumb a lot of the times with her experiments when they would fail.
The book was pretty helpful, helped me pull out a B.
