BSCI 201 - HUMN ANAT&PHYSLG I
Pros: nice lady, makes it very clear what you need to know and study for her exams. If you study enough, you will do fine. No trick uestions or surprises for the most part.
Cons: hard to understand her accent sometimes during lecture.

huge class, can be hard to see from the back/pay attention. very dull/repetitive at times

a lot of studying, lab can be very difficult too, especially the lab practicals. set aside at least three hard days of studying before each exam and each practical, and you should be fine for an A or a B.

This class is hard, but I think everyone knew going in that it was going to be. I agree that her notes can be a bit disorganzied. Bring a computer to class, it helps organize them. Lecture tests are directly from the lecture notes: i didnt open the book all semester. Lab is a little difficult, but the TAs are very willing to help, and as long as you take the time to memorize, you will do fine. Class gets easier as it goes on, practically everyone does bad on the first practical, but the other two are much better.

Great professor--funny and knows her stuff. Answers on her exams must be VERY specific, if you don't write what you think is common sense stuff you'll probably lose points. But overall, I would highly recommend this class, its very interesting and she's very knowledgeable and funny--it doesn't feel like a 3 hour class!

She is VERY nice and really interested in what she is teaching. She gives fair tests that are lecture notes word for word. Does not follow the book, so you have to go to every class to get everything you need for the test. Lab is a lot harder. Quizzes and practicals are very difficult with a lot of material.

She is a great teacher, just sometimes it is hard to understand her because of her accent and she goes pretty fast. I learned a lot in this class and there are a lot of points given so it's ok if you mess up once or twice.

The teacher knows what she is talking about but the notes when she presents them to the class are never organized. You are also better off reading the book before the exam too because its teaches you the concepts better.

Conducts lecture by writing on the overhead. All you need to do well on the exams is to attend class, take the notes, and study those notes (you only need those notes). You don't necessarily need a textbook.

Pros: Professor is really good. Slides and lecture notes are really thorough and coincide well with the book.
Cons: Lots of memorization.

Labs can be hell depending on your TA. I got lucky with a nice one.
Someone made flashcards for the final exam review. This site is a huuuuuuge help in preparing for exams. Also, the supplementary website subscription is great. The etext is easy to use and the study tools are really helpful for the lab- the art labeling tools in particular. I found this class more interesting, more straightforward and easier to study for compared to BSCI105.

Pros: She is really nice and smart. She knows what she is talking about
Exams are directly from her notes. Must memorize powerpoint slides. Sometimes when she writes stuff down, they are not in the powerpoint, but that usually only like 1 note. I wrote down everything in class and studied the powerpoints and class notes. Lab is difficult. Be prepared to study a lot. Lecture exams are easy if you know everything from the powerpoints. She posts old exams which are useful.

Pros: Her tests are very straightforward and come from the notes, so if you come to class and write down everything she does, you will do just fine on the test. There is a good amount of extra credit on each test (4-6 points)
Cons: She was sometimes hard to understand and the lab practicals are almost pure memorization, so you need to be willing to put in the work to do well.

Pros: Lots of opportunities for points in lab.

Opoku codes matching portion of exams to spell out a phrase, making it easy to get full credit on that portion of the exam.
Cons: Practicals were very difficult, requiring a lot of memorization for only 25 questions.
Quiz difficulty depends on the T.A.

Opoku is very straight forward and helpful as a professor.

Pros: Lab constituted a big portion of the grade

Exams are fair; matching is especially easy

Professor is funny and engages students
Cons: Takes a while to get used to Opoku's accent

Lots of content to memorize.
I had Professor O'Brien for Anatomy 2. She pales in comparison to Opoku. Opoku was much more organized and clear

Pros: Great teacher. She really knows what she's talking about and explains things in an understandable way, not just repeating what the textbook says.
Cons: Her accent and handwriting needs a little getting used to.
Great teacher and you should definitely get her if you get a chance.

Pros: Good notes
Cons: Terrible writing

Not very lenient
She is a good teacher, in a sense, that she will give good notes and tell you what she expects you to know for the test. The lab TA's sometimes suck but that is uncontrollable. The class itself seems interesting.

Pros: tests are pretty easy and straight forward
Cons: A LOT of information!! Tests should be easy, but if you don't study, you won't do well.
She is hard to understand and her handwriting is awful, but you will get a better grade in her class than O'brien.
