Aguilar is a very dynamic in lecture and keeps the content relevant to his students. Although the lecture is large (300+ students), he goes out of his way to take questions and explain different methods of solving problems. The exams are challenging, but not unreasonable; they're exclusively multiple choice, so the real problem is watching the clock and managing your time carefully. Overall, he's a great professor to start economics with.

Really good professor. This class takes a little commitment on your part, but he's a nice guy and pretty fair. If you go to class, follow the reading, you should be fine. He puts up skeleton notes online, and if you really want to do well in the class (meaning A/A+) you should print these off and use them to take notes in class.

Pros: Great teacher, passionate about what he does. He will tell you what he expects up front.
Cons: Tests are very hard. You need to do more than just go to class. If you read the book, ask questions, go to OH's you will do well on the tests, but just going to class won't get you an A most times.

Mike Aguilar is a great professor and challenges you to do your best. He teaches you economic intuition and forces you to apply what you learned on the tests. It is a fairly demanding class but you get a lot out of it and is very helpful
