Pros: One of the better, nicer professors who teaches Chemistry 101. She tries to get to know students personally.

General Descriptive Chemistry I

Pros: There is lots of help available through the chemistry help center.
Cons: This class is hard.
Lecture was boring and hard to pay attention to. I learned almost everything by reading the book. This class will require a lot of work outside of class to really learn things. However, there were a few topics she introduced in class that were explained very differently in the book so it was good to go and work on mastering chemistry or something. Mastering chemistry assignments can be really long, but most of them were helpful if you worked things out and didn't just google the answers.

Very good teacher! Works sample problems, has office hours for working problems/answering questions, emails promptly, always has a review the night before an exam. Assigns a webassign assignment usually every weekend but they are very similar to problems in the book and sometimes are the exact same and she'll answer and work problems/questions on the discussion board on Blackboard. She's funny too but some of her jokes are cheesy. She's great

It is a difficult class, but it IS chemistry! I have had her for 101 and 102 now and she is a very good teacher that knows her stuff. Tries to keep things interesting and is always available for extra help.

Pros: Funny at 8am, gives decent lectures, not hard to understand.
Cons: Cracks jokes to liven the lecture but often leads to confusion in the material. Difficult course work. Difficult exams
It may just be the course which is hard and not the individual instructor but especially the volume of homework required for Bliem's Chemistry 101 course seems to be excessive.

Pros: -mastering chemistry homework sets really enforced what was being learned in class

-had old tests online to review
Cons: -mastering chemistry homework sets took FOREVER!

-tests were tricky
a lot of work, but you'll come away learning a lot

Cons: Exams are Hard. Material is hard.
Bliem is not a bad professor, Jones is easier for 101. I have had both professors, and I prefer Bliem.
