The Nature of Moral Consciousness: A Course in General Anthropology
4
Doesn't take a whole lot to do well in this class. Show up for lecture and recitation, read over the books assigned. This course focuses on over-arching themes rather than specific information. If you understand what Dr. Evens is arguing, then you do well on the tests, simple as that. The TA's aren't exactly friendly in their grading of essays, but they are very helpful for the tests.

Pros: The class size is very large (400+ students) so the chances of you be able to find a good study partner are high.
Cons: The material is very difficult to grasp.
Don't take this class unless you absolutely have to. Or are into philosophy like that. Some people do really well, some don't, most do average (C).

Thought the subject would be interesting but the professor is so ambiguous that the course is hard to understand. It really is a philosophy class and not an anthropology class. The grading is done by TA's and my TA was pretty rough, so overall, did not enjoy this class at all.

Pros: Great subject material and presentation. Gets you to think in different ways about familiar subjects.
Cons: Has tendency to go off on different tangents. You'll miss something if you don't pay attention to the big picture.

Doesn't take attendance, very difficult to get the motivation to go to class because of how hard it is to understand what point he is trying to get across, the questions on his midterms are very confusing

Pros: Very interesting class; you will take valuable life information from it.
Cons: Graded solely by the TA's, so whether you understand the material or not, your grade depends on how your TA perceives the class.
