Pros: really funny, entertaining lecturer, explains concepts really well, very straightforward with expectations, gives outlines for tests, exams don't try to 'trick' you and very fair

Cons: none, really... it's just a lot to remember, but that goes for any psyc class

Loeb is my favorite professor at UNC, hands down. She is really funny and I love all her lectures. She presents the material in a clear, easy way to understand. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and is fair when it comes to exam expectations. However, Psyc 101 is not super easy. It's just a lot to remember, but Loeb makes it fun and you want to learn it all. You just have to study for exams using her outline and you will be golden.

There is alot of information covered in this class. Alot of little quizes but you can take them as many times you want until you get your desired grade. She really is entertaining and fun as a teacher.

Pros: interesting subject matter, funny and passionate professor, use of other media during class (e.g., videos), easy and helpful online quizzes for each chapter, great textbook

Cons: it's large class so a recitation is required

Overall I loved this class. It made me change my major to psychology. Dr. Loeb is hilarious at times and she's not completely boring during the rest of the time. The textbook was also excellent and was an invaluable study tool; if you actually read (and take notes) on every chapter, then you will probably ace the final.

BIOPSYCHOLOGY

Pros: Very nice.

Cons: Powerpoint teacher.

This is NOT your typical UNC psychology class. You have to be serious about it and do the work. She tells you at the beginning of the course that it is essentially a biology course, with very little psychology. That said, if you happen to be a biology major or pre-med, take this course before anatomy because it helps a ton to have a background in nervous tissues and the endocrine system.

Pros: Funny and relatable. Quizzes are online and multiple choice with unlimited submissions. Class honestly is more of a fun activity to fill my day than it is "work."

Cons: none really... I honestly can't think about anything I don't like about Prof. Loeb

Prof. Loeb is the best! She brought in dog trainers (with dogs) to show us how organisms learn. Extra credit is plentiful and success is easily attainable.

Pros: Great teacher, very funny. Despite the fact that it's a large lecture, I look forward to attending her class. Relates the material well.

Cons: Test are deceptively hard. Even if you know the subject matter really well, you have to be careful-they are trickier than some of these other reviews would have you believe.

Pros: She makes you want to come to class! Her lectures are filled with cute anecdotes and that blend well with the lecture.

Cons: Her exams can get tricky. If you had her for another psych class, don't think it'll be easy. Biopsych is more of a bio class than a psych class---but she gives you fair warning...

She makes class VERY interesting with her hilarious sense of humor. She knows the material really well and puts up an outline of her notes. Her exams are somewhat hard but as long as you complete the study guides you'll do well. Excellent professor!

Pros: she gives out bonus points whenever she feels like it. 10% bonus on final exam ! easy easy tests as long as you study. don't really need to go to class if you read the textbook and pay attention to the notes she GIVES you

7 Quizzes and 7 Papers straight from the book. Extremely easy! It's like a easy 100 for 14% of your grade.
