CHEM 101 - General Descriptive Chemistry I
He's not a bad teacher. Made the calss somewhat entertaining. Just be sure to look over his past old exams in order to study for his tests; they're exactly the same.

CHEM 101 - General Descriptive Chemistry I
I found that I did not have to go to class because he taught exactly what the book said and tests were very similar to his old tests that he posts. Just go to the chem help lab because they were a lot more helpful than Pielak

I found that I did not have to go to class because he taught exactly what the book said and tests were very similar to his old tests that he posts. Just go to the chem help lab because they were a lot more helpful than Pielak

Pielak wasn't a bad teacher. If Hogan is available take him instead, but Pielak is definitely bearable. You could probably do just as well by reading the textbook instead of going to lecture. Definitely do the homework problems even though he doesn't grade them. They will help you to understand the material. Also, STUDY THE OLD EXAMS..they're almost exactly the same as current exams. Only 3 test grades & the final, but an A is possible if you work hard.

Pros: Really interesting. Class doesn't suck. Pretty much just an old, cool science guy.
Cons: Curve is ridiculous. Really difficult to make an A because the bell curve is so insane. B's and C's should be easy though.

tests were SO hard
don't take a class with him. just don't. ever. it was so unnecessarily hard and i would recommend it to NO ONE. take chemistry with ANYONE else
