Pros: He is willing to go the extra mile with you to help you understand the material. He will help you out (grade wise) at the end of the semester if you take the time to go see him throughout the semester. He posts old exams.
Cons: His tests are hard and full of detail. Be careful of his wording.
Dr. Alston is a wonderful but hard professor. He wants you to learn Human Physiology. With this said, He expects alot on tests. His tests are 50 questions of detailed material. If you want an A on a test, you have to not only know the material, but understand it. He is very willing to help you understand the material. Get to know Him! Go to office hours, If he knows your name, he will help you in the end. (round your grade up) He loves for students to come to office hours with questions about contextual questions.
