BIT 2406 - Quantitative Methods
Do not get her @ 8 am or anything... because she's so boring and every single lecture seems like it's the same thing. Same boring voice. Same boring problems. Same boring notes. It's tough to stay awake.
Do not get her @ 8 am or anything... because she's so boring and every single lecture seems like it's the same thing. Same boring voice. Same boring problems. Same boring notes. It's tough to stay awake.
But DON'T SLEEP. You have to pay attention to everything and take all the notes she writes on the board. EVERYTHING is based on what she says in class. I never touched the book and never needed to (don't buy it).
She has about 13 quizzes but drops the lowest 3, which is really nice. Each quiz is only 3 questions and pretty straight forward.
Overall, you'll learn the material and get a decent grade... but have to work pretty hard on it.

Clark was a good teacher and she explained everything very well. Often she dumbed things down for us (like explaining how to average) which made attending class really boring. But, if you go to class and pay attention you will probably get an A pretty easily. She gives quizzes every other week or so that are usually pretty easy and she tells you what it will be on. She also gives out practice problems for the exam which are also really helpful. If you have to take BIT 3414, take it with Clark. I had taken it a semester before with another guy (who retired after that semester) and I had to withdraw and now I have an A with Clark.

This is extremely similar to the other BIT classes taken previously, so if you did well in those, this is a breeze. Clark is a good teacher, that is, she will write all important information on the board, as well as providing printable notes on Blackboard. This class can get pretty boring, and that is the only reason I gave her four out of five stars. Pretty standard BIT class. Pretty easy.

Certainly not the most interesting class or professor you will take, but Clark is very fair and does a good job explaining the information you need to know to do well in her class. No surprises in this course...what you see is what you get.

Pros: Really great professor. Knows the material and knows how to teach it.
Cons: Very little curving. All 4 exams count towards your grade (none are dropped) and the final is required and cumulative.
By far the best BIT professor I've had at Tech. From my previous experiences with BIT math classes I was terrified but Dr. Clark is so organized and explains every little thing so systematically and clearly. She takes you through everything very slowly and step by step. I can't emphasize enough how clear she made everything and how good she was at walking through these concepts.
She will say you need the book but you absolutely don't. Mostly a side effect of how well she teaches- I didn't buy the book and never ever felt a desire to go to the book to better understand a concept or even review anything because my class notes were more than enough. She does however have one reading assignment before each test and there will be one question directly from that reading from the book on the test. Either borrow a friends book or skip it and miss the question / guess.
You NEED to go to class. As long as you go to class you should understand everything but you're really out of luck if you skip.
She's not the most exciting person but she is very nice and very focused on teaching the material. I can't recommend Dr. Clark enough, really great professor to get for this class.

She explains everything you need to know in class, maybe one question out of the book. But she tells you that one question is going to come from that one or two pages she tells you to read.
She provides powerpoints for you so you can print them out and write your notes on them.
Her tests are all multiple choice and not harder than the practice questions she gives you.
She should be an easy A/B if you go to class. There is no homework, just tests/quizzes.

Although some may say she's entirely boring, I think it's important to separate the subject matter from the teacher. Clark does an excellent job organizing the class, making it easy to develop an understanding of what to expect on her exams, homework and quizzes. If you have to take this class you might as well take Clark, you can actually learn something.

Pretty particular in how she runs her classes, she gives you exactly what you need to know how to do the exams and do well. Study the notes, do some of the problems from the book, and you will do well in her class.

Great teacher. Tries to make the material interesting. Does a great job of explaining the material. Exams come directly from class notes. Don't bother buying the book you will never use it.

Pros: Very fair professor, straightforward class.
Cons: It's BIT so you know it's going to suck.
BIT 3414 is probably the best BIT class I've taken at Tech, although that's like saying I'd rather get hit in the head by a 9-iron than a bowling ball.
The class is VERY well-structured and Clark provides all of the materials needed to study for the course. She uploads the notes prior to each class on Scholar and all you have to do is print them out and fill in the terms she writes and the problems she works out in class. Simple enough.
There are four exams (including a cumulative final) and each class has either a participation exercise (you and a partner solve a problem and turn it in) or a two-question quiz. Therefore, it is absolutely essential to go to class otherwise you will miss points and a huge chunk of the material for the next exam.
The material itself, however, is very tedious and boring. It is about 75% computational and 25% conceptual problems throughout the course. The math isn't awful and after some practice it becomes routine.
Overall, Clark is a very professional, helpful and intelligent professor. I highly recommend taking the course with her because she is the best BIT teacher you'll likely have.

For a potentially challenging course, Ms. Clark makes it very easy. If you go to class, pay attention, and do the practice problems before each test you will be fine. She makes very good note sheets for each lecture and goes over them very well. The book is only needed if you miss a lecture, and for the one or two question on each test from a specific section (usually only a couple pages). Great professor

Pros: She breaks down all the information really well so you understand how to do everything with no problem as long as your in class.
Cons: Breaking everything down so much does make the class a little boring and hard to get through at times.
Overall I really enjoyed Clarks class and ended up with an A in the class, her teaching style worked really well for me.

Clark is an excellent teacher for this course. The way she sets up her lectures makes it really easy to follow and understand. I definitely recommend reading the assigned pages before class. You'll rarely every have to read the entire chapter, so you can easily read it 30 minutes before class if necessary. She is very willing to help her students.

Pros: She really tried to make her class interesting and it was obvious she loves what she does. In her office hours she always does what she can to help. Her tests had some trick questions, but overall they're not too bad. Also, she gives out quizzes for every few chapters so you keep on track. I definitely recommend her.

Cons: Quizzes tripped me up a few times. Absolutely NO help given/questions answered prior to tests or quizzes.

Pros: Easy class
tests and quizzes are are easy.
If you go to class she will make the material seem super easy for you and basically hold your hand the entire way.
Cons: not much
If you have taken 2405 and 2406, I feel like this class is 10x easier than those 2 with this teacher
