this man is a loser. he's like 60 and still an associate proffessor. He won't let you take anything early. If your lucky you'll get a good lab group. IF not your in for one shitty semester.

The labs were awful. The only good thing about them was you only had lab every other week. The listed time for lab is 2 hours and 45 minutes, but you better expect to be outside doing the labs for a minimum of 3 hours, often times lasting 4+. And that is the easy part. The lab write ups are what make you want to kill yourself. Expect to work on those anywhere from 4 hours to 10+ hours, depending on the lab.

Overall, Connor is a great guy, but Measurements is an annoying class.

Pros: Hysterical, understanding, interesting
Cons: Time-consuming and stressful HW and labs don't match the laid-back pace of lecture.
I really like Connor. His jokes are so terrible (he admits this) that they're funny and his personality is hysterical which works well for this class. Easily the funniest professor in CE. He relates lecture material to real-life situations (he has extensive background in surveying and water resources) and he injects a lot of philosophical asides into his lectures; very interesting stuff. He's eager to help his students understand anything about general Civil E. or surveying and always helpful during office hours. Get to know him. His hobby is brewing, so do yourself a favor and get him sidetracked and he will talk extensively about beer, which is great.

This class has been administered the same way for years, so the labs and the HW are both tedious and time-consuming. Not too difficult but it will keep you busy all the time. Connor really has nothing to do with the labs, which is a shame because he would be really helpful in the field. It is nice to be outside, however.

Connor is an interesting guy... He seems to really know his stuff in surveying, but in other areas, he has no idea what he's talking about. His idea of quieting down a class is to tell a corny joke--which he usually winds up butchering. He's a funny guy and will attempt to answer your questions, but he often tells you to ask the TAs if he doesn't know the answer (which is almost all the time). Measurements is a very time consuming class. The material isn't difficult, it's just a lot of busy work. Some of the tests made me think I was back in the freshman engineering classes with random questions grabbed from some random page in the book. Overall, he's not a bad teacher but you're stuck with anyways since he's the only one who teaches Measurements.

Pros: He is very energetic and passionate about Measurements in general so it is fun/interesting to watch him teach. He also makes some pretty funny/odd jokes during class...a sense of humor is always good :P.
Cons: The tests can be somewhat bogus. When I took the first one it immediately reminded me of an intro to engineering exam - basically questions try to fool you, etc. Since the material isn't extremely difficult, I guess it is how the average is brought down. The homework assigned also has a "busy work" feel to it...
The work load is basically what you want it to be (determined by the effort you put in like any other class) - don't expect to be too lazy and get a good grade though.

This class isn't the most interesting but you will learn how to use AutoCAD. The test is easy, the hw is easy but you don't know how you are being graded until you get it back so be sure to e-mail the TA if you got marked for something and you don't know why. Project make sure you spend a lot of time on. It is very obvious how much time you spend because you will make significantly less money on it if you don't spend a lot of time. The money you make on it is directly proportional to how much time you spend.

This is one of the worst classes i have had to take. The organization of the class is horrible, and AutoCAD always screws up on crappy tablet pc's. He has no idea what he is doing, and he assigns a project that he spent one class on. The final project was so poorly done, and there was no way to print the document the way he wanted to. I would really wish tech would change this class. He does post video lectures, so if you don't go to class you can be ok. He will kick you out for any reason.

I had him for CAD Drawings and he's a really smart guy, but has little to no real people skills. Don't do anything other than classwork in his class!! Its disgusting how he yells at students and gets angry when he sees you put your headback even for a second or glance at your cell phone. He also posts a TA lacky in the back of the room to watch peoples screens. Just do the work and you can almost definetly get an A.

Despite all of Connor's quarks he is a really good teacher. If you show his respect he will show you respect. Just be ready to get called out in front of the whole class if you are sleeping or talking. He is very knowledgeable in which ever subject he is teaching and as long as you go to class and do the homework then you should be fine.

He doesn't always know what he is talking about but he will be sure to tell you if he doesn't and what to possibly do to get the help you need. Your lab TA will be your best bet at getting help and even though Connor doesn't always know what he is doing but he is a very funny professor and his lectures are enjoyable.

Professor Connor is a nice guy, but he is kind of goofy so his it is sometimes hard to take him seriously. This class has one graded homework a week, but during class he tells you how to do it. The exam is somewhat difficult and the final project is not very difficult, but incredibly time consuming.

Prof. Connor is great. He is very enthusiastic about the material despite his occasional monotone. Personally I thought he was a great professor just because of how interested he is in the material. Some of the test questions are a little too specific but it really isn't that difficult.

You don't have to go to class if you don't feel like it. He video records his lectures and puts them online. If you do alright on the homework and do decent on the project you will get a B. The test is tricky but is not worth much. No final.

A really useless class and the one exam you have has nothing to do with what you did and he never reviews for it or prepares you at all. Homeworks are tedious and confusing, if you're good with autocad you should have no problem.

Pros: Connor is a funny, laid back guy. He's pretty helpful if you go to his office hours. I enjoyed the lectures.
Cons: The homework is overly time consuming, and a lot of the things you learn you will probably never use.

THE LAB. The lab is terrible. You had better hope you get in a good group. On one of the labs, my group kept screwing up, and two of the people didn't do much. It ended up taking me and the other competent person in the group about 40 hours to do over two weeks.

The other ones didn't take nearly as long, but were still time consuming (up to 10 hours).
You can get an A in this class - I did. Just put tons of your time in, and you'll be fine.

Pros: Interesting material that deals with major.
Cons: Class moves very fast. Fall too far behind and get ready for the stress. Labs are long and tedious.
Overall a good class. Must be ready to spend most of your time and schedule doing work for this class. Labs are interesting but really suck especially if you get stuck with a bad group who is not willing to work for their grades. Definitely a "weed-out" class so stick through it to the end and get the work done and you'll be fine.

Pros: The first two tests are extremely easy.
Cons: The final is impossible.
He goes on tangents a lot that you don't have to pay attention to until after the second test. The thing is, you get used to what info is going to be on the test that the final is completely different and you're not prepared for it. Also, we didn't get to about 3 units in the class but he still put them on the final. The lab is also really tedious and brings your grade down.

Pros: Professor Connor is a complete goober, which can sometimes lighten the mood in the class. He is also pretty decent at conveying the material.
Cons: Measurements is interesting, but there is no way around the fact that you have a lot of work. You have at least one graded HW assignment a week, a couple pretty difficult tests, a work intensive lab due every two weeks, and a quiz every time you have lab
