Giles is a really cool teacher. My only complaint is that his test questions do not line up with his lectures at all. Just memorize the lecture notes he posts online and be familiar with the reading from the textbook and you will be okay.

I had a really hard time with this class over the summer. He is hard to understand sometimes, but part of that is just because there is so much material to learn. I'm over-analytical, so I also had a hard time with the tests. Not because the material, but the wording of the questions. He is always available, but we just didn't connect well enough for me to grasp the way his test questions were formulated. There are no outside homeworks and the book's questions aren't easy to follow either.

Giles is a very good professor, but his tests can be hard. His classes are very entertaining and he gives you plenty of notes to study from. The test questions are hard because he makes sure you undestand all the concepts and asks questions that usually 1 or 2 answers seem right, but one is better than the other. He is known to give at least one extra credit assignment or quiz. Make sure you take advantage of it.

Professor Giles made Business Law fun and interesting. Sometime his stories were tedious to listen to - but most of time his stories help me understand the concepts better. His test are not easy, but they are not impossible. Just make sure you understand the concepts and apply them to different examples - you should do fine. Also he gives extra credit sometimes before an exam.

Giles was an entertaining guy but not really my type of professor. If you have any interest in law and understand basic principles you really don't need to go to class because he basically reads off of the notes he posts online the whole time with a few stories thrown in.

I stopped going to class and got an A- anyways because I just made sure I understood his notes prior to an exam.

Prof. Giles is different. He has a law degree, but does not have mention a lot of experience practicing. Most of the class involves him calling on random hot girls, and guys who kiss his ass to answer questions about basic property rights, and what sort of legal issues businesses must deal with. Usually he just stumbles through a lecture taken every opportunity to "adjust" himself or rub his belly. I sat in the back and read the newspaper. The text is very useful for understanding basic legal procedure, but readings aren't necesary for exams. Rather exams are based on the lecture, as ridiculous as it can be sometimes. I think Giles brought up a strip club in West Virginia at least once a week. Weird guy.

I swear this guy listens to redneck yacht club everyday in his pick up truck on his way to work. He is from the south and DAMN proud of it. Usually he uses it to make fun of himself and have fun with the class.

He really makes himself available to the students, which is important when it comes to test time. GO SEE HIM BEFORE! It really gives you an insight to what he is looking for in tests. All tests are multiple choice and fairly basic if you pay attention in class.

The book is worthwhile, especially if you have other law classes in your major. It is really good for the glossary at the minimum.

He gave extra credit once in a while as a suprise for showing up for class.

I heard good things about this professor, so that's why I enrolled in his class. I was in for a shock! He talks about 40 of the 50 minutes about random topics that are irrelevant to the topics, and therefore, the class is ALWAYS empty. His pop quizzes serve as extra credit, so that's nice, especially with his difficult tests. His tests are the ones you never know about - either a hit or a miss. I hated this class and wouldn't recommend it to anyone, unless getting another professor!

Giles is an okay teacher. Pretty entertaining at times. His tests require that you read the book with the sections that go along with the notes. Definitely know the material the class before the test because he will sometimes give extra credit based on your knowledge of the material. He is sometimes unfair with his tests. He words things kinda tricky and he does not always give the same test to his different classes. Some classes get a test with more Koofer questions than the other classes.

Going to this class wasn't mandatory, but it was enjoyable and the extra credit sometimes offered during classes made all the difference!

I got an A in the class. without the extra credit I would have been lucky to pull off a B+.

Some of his test questions are not covered in the book or the class which is unfair.

The first 2 tests are definetly the easiest so do well on those. The final is the most difficult.

Some people like this class because Giles talks about his life the entire time, incorporating humor. His life, however, has nothing to do with the class, so these tangents he goes off on are really annoying. He reads off the same notes he has had for years, and you may as well forget about actually studying because it doesn't help very much. Find some koofers.

Giles class was okay...he just reads from the notes and then gives some examples here and there. But I found the book to be helpful in supplementing the lectures. Giles would give examples but then just ask a question about it at the end...the book actually gives you the answer to the scenario haha. A lot of material...but not too bad of a class overall.

His exams are way too hard for how he teaches the class. I would like if he went into more detail and explained things more thoroughly before exams, because it seems his lectures barely cover any relevant material at all. The only knowledge I have of Business Law is thanks to my textbook, and the exams are still hard.

I never went to class except to take the exams and ended up with a B in the class, just read the book and look over the notes and you should be fine. tests are alot harder than they should be and every single question is a scenario question, so if you dont know the material well then you will not do well on the test.

I learned a ton. He tells us that law isn't available to the average person, generally just lawyers, and he is right. It's important especially as future businesspeople that we know at least the basics of the law, and this class helps you do that. I went to class and studied a day or two before the exams and did well.

4 exams = your grade. No homework, no participation grade, but should attend class regularly and read the chapters to prepare for the test. He talks a lot about mostly irrelevant (to the test) subjects sometimes, but its usually interesting. Overall an enjoyable professor.

Good professor. Enjoyed his class. Makes the hour and fifteen minutes not seem bad. Gives extra credit quizes to add onto your exam once in a while. So go to class the day before an exam, and go to class anyway he is enjoyable. Recommend as instructor

He's a very entertaining professor and you will learn practical application of the law to business. That being said, some of his tests are particularly tricky. Especially the True/False. Extra credit helps a lot

classes are very boring but it pays to go to class especially the couple days before an exam because an extra credit quiz is usually given to help boost your grade. read the book and the class should be easy.

Funny guy who gets across the material with plenty of examples. Tends to tell the same joke/story over and over but it just proves his point about getting old. Teaches with projector and notes mostly.
