He cancels class a lot even though its only once a week. The tests aren't difficult, they're pretty much only from the book so read ahead of time. Go to the books website and take the quizzes online, they're really helpful for the exams. He curves and gives extra credit. Go to class, he will ask questions about classes. They're very long classes, but not that bad to sit through.

Teaches class like a CEO motivational coach. Class sucks and Neck is wayyyy overpaid. Some of the in class speakers are cool but test are hard. Overall bad class take the other section

Dr. Neck's class is held in Burress Auditorium with about 1,000 students all in one classroom. But, with his personality, enthusiasm, and motivational speaking - he keeps you awake and interested.



It's a great MGT class and you really learn a lot if you're truly interested in Business Management.



Overall, he's an excellent teacher and I'll always remember him and his class. But I'm just warning you... Burress with 1,000 people for 3 hours is long and pretty painful just to sit that long (I know he gives a break halfway through, but still).



Take the class and you'll understand why he continually receives the campus-wide Students' Choice Faculty Member of the Year Award.

Okay, I personally hated this class. I mean it was nice & uplifting, but it taught be ZERO ab/ mgmt. Don't be fooled by the easiness of the lectures, the tests are VERY HARD. You MUST read the book. This was the only class I didn't get an A in last semester which included real classes. Basically get ready for a $3000 seminar on how to live life. Freshman class at best, unfortunately you must attend lectures and take good notes b/c that is half the test.

Go to class. When he shows a movie, write down the title and what Neck says directly after to illustrate the point. Ex:



VIDEO ââ?¬â?? Marathon runner Tanzania

Runner had PURPOSE



Then you have to read or you will fail because half the test he never talks about before class.



If you outline the chapters you should be fine.



And do the extra credit, its easy!

If you like common knowledge, that basically won't mean anything in the classroom but will help you enourmously in life then take this class. He's uses alot of video examples (which is awesome), has numerous guest speakers (which are interesting), and gives out free t-shirts. He is great to listen to and to learn from. TAKE THIS CLASS.

Dr. Neck's exams sometimes had the most random questions on them that were way too specific. I did not do too badly on the exams, but I would suggest doing a lot of memorization on definitions from the book, which he doesn't really go over in his lectures, which you are also responsible for. Otherwise he is a great motivational speaker.

He is a really good teacher and we had speakers a lot which helped to break up the class. He also shows a lot of movie clips which also makes the class a lot easier to sit though but you need to go to class to do well on his tests because he will ask a lot of questions about things that you could only know if you were in class.

This class was an easy A. Professor Neck is a fun, entertaining instructor. Our classes always ended early and consisted of free cold stone and bands performing. Although the class was fun I learned 3 things at most. It seemed like a waste of time, but like I said was fun and an easy A. Take this class if you need it.

Best Professor at Virginia Tech! It's a shame he had to leave. Great person even better teacher, motivates you to progress with your career. Tests are fair, mostly from class. He motivates me to try harder on the football field. I hope to one day bring the national title to Tech and Chris Neck.

He is a pompous ass and what he tests you on in class (ie: the stupid movie clips) gives you no preparation for your next level of classes. It can be entertaining at times but if he cut out most of the crap he teaches the class wouldn't need to be more than an hour and 15 minutes.

You dont really learn anything in class. But you still have to go to class. Really I felt like classes were a waste although they were entertaining. He is a fun, cool teacher, but I still did not learn anything in that class.

Dr. Neck is one of the best teachers I have had a Virginia Tech. He is enthusiastic and has a real passion for what he teaches. If anyone can keep my attention for 3 hours on a Friday, they deserve to be praised!! :)

He's not around a lot but his TA is. Neck is around before class and after class. I had a lot of fun and really enjoyed this class, it gave me a different outlook on life and accomplishing goals pretty much!

Tests aren't hard



Best teacher at Tech



Class is three hours long but sometimes he lets you leave early



All we did is watch movies and somehow related them to leadership and management.

The class has nothing to do with what we're actually supposed to be learning. Neck brings bands, speakers, etc. in, but you really don't learn anything about management. Tests are HARD.

Dr. Neck makes this class the best at Tech. Don't worry about it being 3 hours long on Friday afternoons--time goes by quickly and you forget it's Friday once you are there.
