i was forced to take him for summer 2011 because he was the only teacher that was teaching. so far, he is an ASSHOLE! He calls on you to answer questions and if you don't know it or don't get it right he will continue to make a fool out of you. He called on this one girl to go up on the board to write a formula and she forgot to put the percentage sign and he spent over 20 minutes lecturing when he could have just told her about the % sign and not waste the students time! we are here to learn! Not to watch our classmates get humiliated. He wastes EVERYONE'S time and he complains EVERY SINGLE DAY we walk into class about how his ratings on here was low. He cares more about bringing up his rating than about teaching. He lets you out of class LATE! Usually we get out about 5-10 minutes late if we're lucky.

Anyways... you can go to his website to see what his classes consist of. csupomona.edu/~hco

class syllabus:

in class assignments 30% (he makes you copy him do everything on excel & email it to him by the end of the day. he is anal about what you title the subject, the email, and what name you save the doc. as)

written assignments 70% (tests)

What an asscrack. Unfair grading on his exams. He takes off excessive points for just a very minor mistake. During the beginning of the class, he'll reiterate that if you don't get the right answer on one of the inclass excercises, then you should drop the class. He puts people on the spot for no reason. TOTAL DOUCHE! He should get hit in the face with a 2 x 4.

Pros: Homework is fairly easy.

You get to bring any amount of pages (notes for his exams) to class.
Cons: Our notes have to be hand-written, which slowed me down as far as studying.

Didn't curve first exam.

Picks on you and said he was tired after grading our exams.

No Study Guide for exams or practice problems-- I'd rather have that instead of having a bunch of notes that may not even be of good use for the exam.

Shorted me on time during the exam - I am a DRC student at CPP btw.

Did I mention NO EXTRA CREDIT!!
This professor is horrible as far as preparing you for the midterm. He's good at excel and expects us to be too. The reason I did so poorly on his exam was because I had no idea of what was going to be on there, just the point values for each problem. If he changes his teaching style a little, by creating some kind of guide or clue as to what may be on the exam that would make him the kind of professor that goes that extra step in steering us in the right direction to perform well on any assignment, midterm or final. He also told everyone that he expects an A out of every one of us. He got on my case for not putting in the correct subject TOM302 when I sent my homework in electronically. He got on my nerves during one class session, he was very unhelpful, I even had to ask another student how to do a problem, he had me do that, and he is the PROFESSOR for crying out loud! That to me is just disrespectful. I wanted an A on the midterm, and instead I have to settle for a grade that I know I don't deserve because I had several pages of notes and prepared for the exam. Bottom-line, don't take him, you will regret it. I am hanging in there with a C at this time.

ok first off Dr. Co is either hit or miss in terms of being a friendly guy. One day he will be approachable and able to assist you any way he can and sometimes he is straight out unapproachable. He definately knows his supply chain/logistics VERY WELL but his teaching, while not necessarily horrible, isnt very great either. If you take him, not just for tom 425 but for ebz 304 and tom 301 he is TOUGH, especially for this course. You better not have any other class before or after this course because you will be stressed out big time!!!! taking one class with him is like taking a 8 unit class..seriously!!! I fucking STRUGGLED to earn a C in his class. His exams are hard and his expectations are very high...if he is the ONLY one available to take well then just take him i guess..but even then I wouldnt recommend him...but i suggest taking anyone else just because his class requries ALOOOOTTT of work and effort. There have been changes to the tom/ebz chairs for the past couple of years and he was the chair at one point, not anymore though, but in reality he is the one to talk to in terms of curriculum advisement, course substitutions, etc. there is a new chair, but he really runs to department behind the scenes. honestly i would not recommend him if there is anyone else available teaching whatever course he teaches. Pros: no homoework

no need to buy book

met 1 time a week

3 sheets of notes for each test

tests are curved
Cons: 3 tests

a lot of material to take in

tests are very difficult
Professor Co is really friendly old man. he was really frail when he taught our class, most of the time requiring microphone. he's really friendly but from reading his syllabus or emails he might sound mean or unwelcoming. easy class only met once a week and take notes. if u want to pass the class i recommend taking notes and watching his Youtube videos, at first you might think his slides are important but a lot of his questions comes from Youtube videos. you can tell how much students struggle on his tests when he has to give 3 sheets of notes plus a curve, so be prepared with your 3 cheat sheets. his tests are difficult because there is so much material take in and the questions are so precise, there's no partial credit for close answers. i typed in 8 font and filled up my cheat sheets back and front and still couldn't get everything i needed. he even let us vote if we wanted to do a final, so he's really accommodating. i still highly recommend Professor Co if you want an easy workload and friendly professor.

First thing is you will have to teach yourself. Co does not teach, but merely presents you material that he himself found challenging. If you are able to figure it out he considers you 'smart'. If not, he will insult the students the entire quarter and will constantly say how easy the material is. He has slides with formulas on them, but will not give them in class because he would rather insult the students who want to write them down. Cal Poly should do him a favor and terminate him because he does not even want to teach the class. It is an insult to the entire educational college system to have a professor that does not want to teach. Students are paying thousands of dollars to get an education and Co is saying not to take the class even though it is part of the curriculum. He says the class is hard and Cal Poly should not even offer it. By his own admission he should leave and let a professor who cares teach the class rather than present it. He only cares about appearing 'smart' to the students that can figure it out and could care less about the students who need help. He is the last professor I would ever ask help from. He argues semantics all the time. Its very frustrating, because he doesn't know English as his first language, so he uses words in a way that are not always correct which is very confusing.

}He asks questions that are ambiguous in class, and no matter which way you answer you are going to be wrong. The only way of dealing with him is agreeing and telling him how right he is and how wrong you are. Otherwise it will be a long drawn out argument that goes nowhere.

}As far as grading goes he is fair, he is very flexible when it comes to notes and projects. He just is not a good conversationalist at all. He is not open to learning from students. There is no way that you could no more than him about anything. Even if you worked at the company he is referring to for 5 years, he knows more than you about what they do. Grade Received: A

Nice guy, didn't know how to teach all that well. Boring. I sat further and further to the back each class cuz he would call on you to answer and if you didn't he wouldn't help out at all, he would wait till u had the answer. I hate that. Lets you use a 1 pg. front/back sheet for the midterm and a 2 pg. on the final. He pretty much tells you exactly what will be on the tests. No quizes. We were going to have a presentation but the class voted not to. Almost every day he told us how he didn't understand how last quarter he was surveyed to be the worst professor in the TOM department, obviously he was having trouble seeing why, I could have told him. On top of that he tried to keep selling us on joining the major. Avoid him, there are (hopefully) better professors. Grade Received: A-

I f*&%^% hate this guy. His style of teaching totally throws you off. He speaks in an arrogant manor, almost like everything he says is the end-all be-all of everything. He is very unorganized in his teaching structure. Most students in class are scared to ask questions because he either gives you an indirect answer or he frowns upon you as if you just asked a stupid question. His exams are totally unfair and misleading because he gives you questions just to throw you off on purpose. I tried going to his office hours to ask questions about the class and to receive advising and I left frustrated because he didn't answer a single question straightly or sincerely. What jerk. Take his class at your own risk.

The best way to describe how bad Co's 'teaching' style is to compare it to a student who wants to learn martial arts. Co has a black belt and won a couple of fights. The student wants to learn from him. Co shows him what he knows and the student does not learn anything because Co does not know how to teach a student what he learned. The whole time Co is telling the student how easy martial arts is and is humiliating him for not being able to grasp the concept when the student came to him for instruction. Cal Poly made the mistake of hiring a professor with proper credentials rather than hiring an instructor who can actually teach. Grade Received: D

Cons: He was an asshole.
I was 15 minutes late to class on first day due to CPP awesome availability for parking your vehicle. He dropped me that day after I expressed how deeply I need to take this course. After I spoke to the head of the Dept. and the dean - they both told me it was up to the discretion of the professor to add me back in. He still said no. Im sure the quarter would have revealed his unsatisfaction with his life more in detail and then put upon his students. Dont advise. They're better professors that like to teach.

No scantron final because he said he is not a lazy professor! Folks, if you are going to take his class, you have to pay attention and show up in every class meeting. He said we can use our notes, projects during the final, but he has to announced to the whole class before the final week. If he announced couple weeks ago, that doesn't count. So, make sure to remind him to announce to whole class in week 10. Henry, he has amazing knowledge, but his teaching ability needs to improve. Good luck folks! Grade Received: B-

Pros: Awesome teacher, very smart but very picky when it comes to tests, he basically gives you answers throughout the quarter you just have to take down the obvious things he says that will be on the test.
Cons: Nothing really, just pay attention in class, he will call on you if your not paying attention at times...His test are based off of his specific knowledge, not so much what you think you know, but how he speaks... take the class, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about

I highly recommand students to take this professor. Professor Co is one of the easy professor that i think. He is the funny guy. He can't speak good English, but he explains some materials are clearly. He doesn't use the book a lot because he always uses his power point. For the exams, i think that is very easy in his class. All exams are basic on his power point, that's enough if you only study his power point for all of exams in his class.

Dr. Co is a decent professor. Be warned though. He picks on random people and sometimes can be inappropriate when asking you a question. He assigns you a couple of case studies, a project which is super easy, 2 midterms, and an optional final. If you pass both of your midterms, you don't have to take the final. The book that is required is super cheap and you can get the E-book version. We rarely used it though. Overall, this class is ok.

This class is not all that difficult, but the workload is insane. We had to write five 8-10 page papers. Three of them were due in the last three weeks of his class - basically, one a week. The tests were all essay or fill in the blank and they were pretty hard, but he gives you two pages of notes front and back. You really won't gain any practical knowledge in this course. Take it only if you have to. Grade Received: A
