This class is hard at first, but once you learn Solidworks its a piece of cake (Sorta). This class only requires two of the textbooks listed on the bookstore's page. The books required were the Engineering Graphics book and the Solidworks Modeling book. You will use these books for Classwork and homework. Most of the class is just modeling parts on solidworks, while the other part is making drawings by hand.

Pros: Doesn't care when you turn in work. You can turn in homework a week later for full credit and he couldn't give less of a shit.

Everyone is working on the same parts in solidworks so you can easily work together.

Only one test and he provides a study guide that is spot on.

Cons: Doesn't grade very fairly. The guy next to me had basically the exact same answers and he marked me off on all of them but not him.

Doesn't teach shit. One of the first thing that this guy tells you when you walk into class for the first time is that he is retired. I could definitely tell. He's awful at explaining things too.

Unorganized. He will put one thing on the website and then tell you something different in person.

Monotone. If you enjoy the show "charlie brown", please go ahead and take this class.

Final project was difficult and time consuming. The measurements on the given handout were incorrect and the assembly of parts didnt even fit together in the end.

Work together as much as possible. Solidworks isn't too hard after you figure it out and the book is easy and step by step. Don't pick lazy people for your partners for projects. I received a C in the class and lab. Oh yeah and the class and lab are basically the same thing. You can do whatever you feel like doing in either class.

There isn't much to his class, just go to class and listen to his lectures. It is crucial to read the book before class to know ahead of time what he will cover. There was less solidworks for this class compared to mfe126 and more book work. The book work was confusing at times, but he was very merciful with his grading. The projects for this class were the same as MFE126 for his class, all we needed to do was add the GDT, which wasn't that bad. The final was the butterfly valve with GDT and tooling fits. I got a 38/40 on the first projects and I believe I did fairly good on the final project. I somehow got a B in this class, I honestly do not understand how Price grades. I sometimes think that he just gives people B's so that the whole class won't get A's.

Price is a very good professor for both MFE 126 and MFE 126L. He will teach you how to use Solidworks and some basic hand drawing skills. I recommend everyone try to get Price for MFE 126.
