Professor Baham is the greatest professor I have ever had. He truly cares about what he is doing and about how the students are doing. He pushes you to excel and gives amazing lectures that keep you attentive the entire class. He is funny and always willing to help you outside of class as well. He actually looks at students essays and truly critiques them. Sometimes he is a little hard, but this makes you want to write better, especially since he offers a rewrote for those who are interested. If you ever have the opportunity to take Professor Baham, DO! You will never regret it. I like him so much that I just picked up Ethnic Studies as my major so that I can have the opportunity to learn much more from him.

What can I say he is brilliant. You will definitly learn alot. This class is so interesting that you would never think of missing a class. He expects a lot of work from his students but will give his students a good grade if they complete everything. I`ve had many conversations with him. He told me the lowest grade he`s ever given out was a C. He doesn`t like to see his students fail, unlike some teachers. There is never a midterm or final in any of his classes. Just projects to turn in on the last day of class.

He is a great professor. He speaks so well and is very smart. All of his lectures are very interesting, and he tries to pass everyone. He grades on a curve, helps with any questions, and gives extra credit. There is no way to fail, and you learn alot. He makes you want to learn and I cannot wait to take another class with him. He is wonderful and you all should take him because it will make your college experience sooo much better.

I highly recommend this professor. His lectures are great because he`s so down to earth and yet so knowledgable. A very friendly and intelligent instructor who cares about his students. He requires 2 papers: 1 narrative (10 pgs max) and a 5 page critical paper. He also offers an optional take home exam for those who do not feel they will do well on the 2 required papers. I wish there were more professors like him.

Fantastic teacher! The books he chose were interesting and he helped us see past just the story. No ethnic group valued more than others - everyone has different backgrounds and all are important. He helped us see the things we all share. He makes everyone feel welcome and safe to share their own work, and is willing to talk to students out of class about their work. One of the best teachers I have ever had.

Dr. Baham is excellent! He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and also VERY humorous!!! He makes the course very interesting and fun! You read 2 books throughout the quarter and have a take home final and paper due at the end of the quarter. Baham is sympathetic and concerned about his students. He is one of the best professors here at CSUH!!!!!! Take him, he's great and the class is awesome!!!

Without a doubt, Dr. Baham is THE BEST instructor at CSUH. He is insightful and down to earth. Two papers were due for the whole quarter, no mid-term or final. However, the course contains a lot of readings. Never in my life have I been so anxious to come to class. Dr. Baham is the best teacher I've ever had! I strongly recommend him to all CSUH students, even though your major is not Ethnic Studies.

Professor Baham was one of the best teachers here at Hayward. He made class fun. He doesn`t care to have his students memorize infromation, rather he goes over things to make you understand. He even goes over what the tests will be about. There is no homework except for reading. One of the easiest classes i have taken and i leaned a lot! If you are going to take an ethnic studies class...TAKE HIM!!

You will get a lot of reading from this class. Do the reading. Trust me, I am not a book worm and don't like reading, but it is very important you do the reading, so you could be an active part of the classroom discussions. He is a very open man who is willing to help the students in whatever they need assistance in. I would, without hesitation recommend this professor to all my friends.

This professor is great, he is very knowledgeable across subjects and integrates them throughout the lectures. He enjoys interacting with his students and allows everyones opinions to be heard. Your interest in his lectures will make you go to class, not because it will affect your grade, but because you want to learn. Take his class one of the best teachers on campus!! Real cool person.

If you don`t know, you better ask somebody! Of all of the professors at CSUH, I can honestly say that you have not experienced life at CSUH until you register for one or more of this man`s classes. He knows his stuff and his teaching style is definitely on point! None of his classes are bird courses, so be prepared to think critically and be ready to learn! What are you waiting for?!?

He is a kind wonderful teacher who teaches. really teaches. when u hear stories about engaging, thought provoking college professors, he is one of them. In viewing diveristy he talked a lot about sex and drugs, but that was all the teachers talked about as well, so it was interesting. In his class we expanded on the readings and thought that came up in the big lecture.

Prof. Baham is an excellent professor. He's very intelligent, but not only that, he connects with his students which not enough professors can do. His lectures are never boring - you will be drawn to the subject matter. We had to read two books, and write two papers from what I recall. Take his class, and you will walk away from CSUH/EB with something.

This is the second class I have had taught by Prof. Baham and i can honestly say he is one of the best teachers CSUH has to offer! He is insightful and compassionate. I enjoyed how he challenges you in your beliefs in order to make them stronger...he really knows how to `educate` students...not just drill useless information into their heads.

This was a great class. Satisfied my Ethnic Studies requirements nicely, and I learned alot about African Americans and our society. You watch the movies, do the discussion assignments, and one big paper. The guy is great and this is a killer class. Better add him early, he is cool and a sight for sore eyes compared to other teachers.

Pros: Works hard to support students understand the material and realizes that biases can be set aside in order to let people be themselves and do not have to be second to no one
Cons: busy schedule
One of the best Professors at CSUEB; always positive, supportive, and helpful.
