THIS IS A LAYOUT OF THE ENTIRE CLASS: Dr. Gibbons is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Everyday you go through an outline of the reading with the notes he made. You have to participate by asking at least one question a week. He explains everything in detail, so even if you don't read you should be okay. You have a quiz on the notes everyday right after he goes over them. The quizzes are 5 questions each and usually ask "Which of the following statements is true (or false)." He makes you think critically and sometimes he writes the question incorrectly and you have to ask him if there is something wrong with the question. Two article summaries are required. He allows you to turn them in early and make corrections until you get a 100% on them. The same goes for your powerpoint. If you present your powerpoint at the "Procrastinator's Ball" he gives you twenty points extra credit. You also get extra credit for attending it and asking 1 question for every hour you are there. *In one night I got forty points extra credit while sitting back and watching movies. The midterm and final are like the quizzes except a lot more questions. You are still required to ask if there are problems with some questions. If you know the material he will help you figure out the answer. In conclusion, Dr. Gibbons knows what he is talking about and loves to teach it to his students. He wants his students to succeed. As long as you don't procrastinate, you read, and take notes you should make an A. P.S. His speciality is Memory, so he does not forget what you did or did not go over in class. He always picks up where he left off. He also learns everyone's name, which is nice because it shows he actually cares about his students. TURN EVERY ASSIGNMENT IN EARLY!!!

Listen to him and you will not have a problem. If you do you summaries early, you will easily get a 40/40. The class is quite a bit of work, but if you do what listen to what he says, and you put effort into the class you will easily get an "A"

The class is hardcore and Dr. G is really intense, but if you are interested in learning to write well and are willing to work really hard this is the class for you.

Pros: - organized & uses notes very well

- has use read & then in the next class, he reviews and explains what everything in the book means

- he gets to know his students and interacts with them by requiring students to come to his office to ask for their grades and chat about how they are doing in class

- basically an overall good teacher. tries to making learning easy by using an organized way of teaching
