PHYS 221 - PHYSICS WITH CAL II
The online homework is rough sometimes, but Brown is a really good professor, his notes in class are really fast and hard to keep up sometimes, but if you study the old exams you'll do fine. And iclicker is really easy and a good grade booster.

He sucks. Test sucks, mastering physics makes me want punch babies, and he's boring.

Pros: He does experiments that don't work half the time, but it's hilarious to hear his excuses for why it doesn't work. :D
Cons: There are 3 exams and a final, so you really need to do well. It can be a hit or miss course.
He derives equations the entire class, then follows up with iClicker questions that are a guessing game. The equation deriving gets ridiculous after a while because you start to lose track of what he's doing and usually when he's done, he goes on to something else and you're still stuck halfway through writing the derivation. I would advise after the lecture, go back and read the section covered. It will make everything so much more clear and it has certain sections devoted to solving certain Mastering Physics problems. ;)

Pros: He is usually the only one that teaches so you are stuck with him no matter what.
Don't worry about paying attention in class. Its a waste. Do the homework and study hard before the tests.

Pros: Very helpful if you ask and he has good review and homework help sessions.
Cons: He likes to derive things instead of explain how to use them and it can get confusing.
He knows what he's doing and if you ask he will try his hardest to help you out. He also does experiments in class to convey real world ideas about what you are learning.

Cons: He seems to know what he's talking about but doesn't always convey it properly. The homework (MasteringPhysics) is really annoying because there is little to no feedback on answers given, often to the point of frustration.
