1*
Pros: Doesn't take attendance

Don't have to do the readings
Cons: EXTREMELY LATE

Wastes your time

Bad grader

When I first started this class I thought he was going to be easy...You didn't have to do the readings unless you volunteered or he picked you to talk about it in the next class. He basically sat at the front of the room with his computer in front of him and just talked....He would use analogies that didn't make the material easier to understand. I don't think I learned one thing all term from him. If he did use his computer to show something, he would sit with his backs turned to us and talked staring at whatever was up on the projector.

He showed up extremely late to our class on multiple occasions. He would send us e-mails saying that he would be 15 minutes late and don't leave...then he would show up 20-30 minutes late. This wouldn't normally bother me, but he is so arrogant and expects us to wait that long for him. He never lets you out early...NEVER!

When it came to midterms, we handed them in at the specified time and didn't see them for three weeks. We didn't even know our grades until after it was too late to withdraw from the class. When he did hand them back, he only had half of them graded...this is three weeks after we turned them in.

PHIL 101

1*
Pros: does not take attendance

get to watch movies all the time
Cons: very subjective grader, if he doesnt like your way of writing then youre screwed. he takes forever to give you back your midterms even though it's only 2 essays. he seems really easy but again he is very critical of your writing. tries to make class seem like it will be a breeze but then you get your midterm back and wonder where you went wrong. also not very helpful when explaining your grade.
i would suggest another professor if you have to take this class. but he's definitely got some good herb cause this man's eyes were red every day

Dr. Sacks made Philosophy interesting. This was my first Philosophy class and I was afraid I might have a hard time learning but he made it fun! The textbook had movies as an example to analyze difficult theories. In my online course we were also asked to watch movies as part of the course. We had two exams and they were based in the material we covered. This class was a winner! I got a B+ considering that I work full time and I had limited time to do school work. he is very understanding and a great teacher. I strongly suggest anyone to take this class.

Nice guy who really tries to make the material interesting. Most of the topics are applied to films, so the way he teaches it is more like a "Philosophy And Film" class than just a basic "Intro to Philosophy" class. The workload is extremely light, just a few readings per week. The midterm was just responding to two questions in a take-home prompt. I would definitely take class with him again.

I took this class as an elective. Even though it was more work than i anticipated, i really enjoyed this class. If you like sports, definitely take this class - we talked about current sports issues that related to the philosophy topic almost everyday.

The only complaint i have is his grading on essays. Otherwise, he is a very smart and knowledgable guy, and the class is interesting.

He is OK as far as teaching the class. I just can't stand the materials which are mostly boriiiiiiiiing. 1 take home midterm and 1 final project, the rest is just participation which makes you have to talk about the boring class. I don't know why Drexel puts this as a requirement course. its just ridiculously boriiiiiing once again

He is a cool professor. Gives plenty of time to finish the essays which are not that hard, personally I thought they were kinda fun, have to put some thinking to it. You learn a lot by listening to him in class. He really makes the class easy and when you leave you actually learn something. I recommend taking this professor.

One of the best professor i met in Drexel. He made class fun and get your attention. No homework except reading, but not required. One midterm, take home final. Watch films and use films as the example to teach other than keep using text as the reference! Definitely take him! Easy class but learn a lot!

Pros: Easy online course
Cons: You will never get your grades back or know where you are in the class. He's very disorganized.
Take when you have a rough term, it's easy and requires little effort. Just don't wait to do your papers the night before.
