Define basic database vocabulary including: • Database-collection of tables associated with a general topic • Table/Entity-a collection of records for a single subject, such as all of the customer records • Record- a group of related fields, such as demographic information for one customer; row • Field/Attribute- the smallest piece of information in a database, i.e.customer name phone number or address; column • Value- contents of a cell • Primary Key-column used to uniquely identify each row, cannot be null or blank, can consist of two columns used together, must have only one • Foreign Key-used to connect two tables together, only redundant data, primary key in the other table, can have multiple foreign keys or none at all. • Metadata-data about data • Data Anomolies- bad redundant data 2.
