Sociology Review Sociological imagination- the ability to see how individual experiences are connected to the larger society Social structure-relatively permanent patterns of interaction and relationships found within a society Sociology-the systematic study of human social behavior, groups, and societies, and how these change over time Industrialization-the process by which whole societies were transformed from reliance on human and animal power and handmade products to reliance on machines and other advanced technology Urbanization- the process by which masses of people moved from rural to urban areas and the increase in urban influence over all areas of culture and society Positivism-the belief that knowledge should be guided by facts rather than by imagination, intuition, speculation, or purely logical analysis; the use of observation, comparison, experimentation, and the historical method to gain the facts needed to analyze society Capitalism-a privately owned system of production of goods and services t...
