More Editing and Formatting a Document January 23, 2007  Margins and Page Orientation: o By default, Word is laid out in a portrait orientation, which means that the page is longer than it is wide. The default margins are 1.25 inches from the left and right edge of the page, and 1.00 inch from the top and bottom (WD 60). o In landscape orientation, the page is wider than it is long (WD 60). o To change the margins and page orientation (WD 61):  Click File on the menu bar, and then click Page Setup.  Changing Line Spacing: o The line spacing in a document determines the amount of vertical space between lines of text (WD 62): o Three types of line spacing (WD 62):    Single spacing – one line separated by a little white space.
