Unit 3 Exam Guide • Charles Evans Hughes- made a concerted effort to expand trade with Latin American nations • Washington Conference 1921- congressional act declaring WWI over • Kellogg-Briand Pact 1928- American and French pact signed by 60 nations that outlawed war. • Fascism- a political philosophy, usually involving a dictatorship or elite ruling group; ultrarightists; reactionary government; everything owned and operated privately; supposed to benefit everyone; geared toward national pride; aggressive and militaristic foreign policy; no freedom of speech or press; blind obedience to the government • Mussolini- an Italian politician who led the National Fascist Party and is credited with being one of the key figures in the creation of Fascism.
