Stat Test One Study Guide Statistics: the art and science of learning form data. Art: to be able to graphically report your data. Science: the mathematics and the experimentation. Learning: using evidence that we collect to make conclusions about our question of interest . Data: evidence collected. Population: The group of items that the question is trying to inquire information from. Parameter: A statistical value that describes the population. Sample: A subset of the population. Statistic: A statistical value that describes a sample taken from its population.
